Finally got off my ass and gathered up these ladiEs donation to the compost bin!!!

After loading the trailer before dumping the bin and spreading out I tried to break up any clumps as best I could with the shovel to help speed things up

After spreading compost and mixing in cow manure I added about 7 gal of pond water to the mix and stirred again then placed back into the bin (alot more work than most anticipate) its still kinda on the dry side but the storms are moving in so well let the rain water do the rest

And this is where we are now. Its mixed at maybe 1 to 3 ratio so according to what most say there's a little too much com manure...ill be adding a few more loads of mulched leaves if it becomes a problem.

Let me know what yall think all input is welcome pro or not. Were mostly learning this process together

Edit: due to the outdoor bug and potential pest problem I agree the worm bin should be in doors so no one tell the wife but um........ the worms are in the basement lol

Ok folks got a care package today!!! Heres the lineup I have on hand.

Mephisto: Sour Crack
DP: Taiga #2
RQS: Bubble Kush
Short Stuff: Auto Spanish Diesel
Sweet Seeds: Ice Cool Auto

I know my vote is going with the Ice cool from Sweets and after watching Trapper grow the Mephistos, the Sour Crack is my other choice.plus I need something to go next to that lonely ole cup like a few sweet and mephisto badges lol

What do you guys think? Ill probably be dropping 3 since they are not fem seeds and hoping for at least two females.

feeding worm.bins

Ok today is time to feed and tend to the worm bin. Ill turn the worm bins over bout every 3 to 4 weeks. Some people feed on one side for easier harvesting but I have a screen with 1/8 in holes in it to harvest with so the whole bin will be dumped so I feed the entire bin. Plus I have 2000 worms in here so its a little over kill for my bin. Today ill be feeding an apple and adding egg shell to my bins. The eggshell is benificial for calium in the soil but also helps the worms to digest the food in there gizzard. To make it easier I baked all of my eggshells on 200 for 20 min then placed them in a grinder. My grinder is not too efficient so ill be getting another but this will do for this week.

I cut the apple up in thin slices (found in the yard one of the kids didnt eat all of it) at first they dont consume them very quickly but as soon as they get a little mush to them you wpuld be suprised how fast 2000 worms can eat an apple lol.

I open the bin and turned evry thing over to keep it from becoming to wet or soggy on bottom and becoming anaerobic
Then spread/sift the egg shell powder over the entire surface of the bin then spread the apple out on top as well.

Lastly I moistened the top layer as well as my soggy cardboard and placed it back over the top of the bin

Fantastic stuff at, great to see another convert to organics...:dig: I have always been a simple organic grower but are now getting alot more technical being inspired by this forum. I should have joined a forum years ago lol, but I was busy with life and happy with what I grew for little effort & cost. I am now forgoing my planned winter grow to prepare my plots for spring. I will be trialing a couple of different mixes, but all will be injected with worms, microbes & endomycorrhizal fungi. I am fortunate that I live on an organic property with a semi - pro market garden so I have access to a tea aerator, worm farm and surrounded by plants that attract benefical predator bugs. My landlord is a dude and doesn't mind me growing on his land. I want to build these holes to become "no till" with a thick layer of mulch protecting the living soil. Good luck atrain....:karma Cloud:

Sounds like a plan vas... I will get there one day!

nice bro..good job..another thing to try is do blend some crushed shells in a gallon of soil n bokashi then prior to adding after its fully broken down to be right there for the food n micro wormy dudes is to add a lil more unblended shells to the soil that was initially blended..works well.:Sharing One:

good stuff! and a tough choice on the beans. my first thought was Sweets and Mephisto but then the DP, SS and RQ are nice also. why did you make it sooo hard lol

It is def a tough choice that spanish diesel sounds awesome as well. I will more than likely drop three and just hope 2 turn out to be females and manage what I can if I get 3. Just pop another if only 1 is F.

Hi , I was so impressed with your MG White Cheese, so I bought seeds and MG plant food to go with it, hope it works, I Wil come along for the ride on this one too if you don't mind
