hiya... ,Anyone out there advise please, I am growing a bubble gum auto in an old hifi cabinet (needs be for now) and she getting too close to the light , I have put some wire mesh accross about an inch below the four-way cfl , will she carry on growing ok like that ? (she's about 20 inches tall at mo, bud sites just starting to fill out , she's quite vigorous at present...the early big leaves are also not too far from the edges of the space, would I need to trim them maybe?)

You might have to tie the top branches down to keep them from hitting the lights.As far as the leaves toughing the sides I wouldn't worry about that .Just don't bend them down to far at one time or they will break.Just go a little at a time.
Cheers for the replies & the welcome :thumbs:, the top of the plant is about one and a half inches from the lights- the leaves are trying to find their way through the mesh,(using four x 24w cfl on a 4way adaptor with four more cfls at the sides -cheap & cheerful setup, worked okay for my first grow ,a fastbud#2, but she was quite short, in the meantime I will research tying and bendiing branches, & might get rid of thefour way adapter and instead move one cfl to each top corner,
yeah when those girls start to bud the buds will grow through the mesh like a scrog...and if its that close to the light youll probably burn your budz up..
...you may wanna look into some emergency lst methods...low stress training....youlll tie the branches down along the rim of the pot or along those lines...but seeing how your having width problems as well you may wanna try tying the branches alond the wall of the cab instead of the pot....hope it helps
