New Grower Bay Area Backyard Grow Take TWO :D

:D Hey GF! How ya been? That's a nice save on poor Anne! *whew* LOL! If there's still some decent surface conductive tissue left intact, the branch will likely be okay.... Aaaaand,.. the rest of the girls? How about some pics of them? I can certainly see how well the buds are building, and quickly! MMM-hmmm! *** You're right about the pace of final ripening, strain to strain,... harvesting should be a nice leisurely couple here, couple there later....:brow: I hear lots of good things about putting them in total darkness for a couple days prior to harvest, allowing the trich's to fatten up extra since there's no sunlight/weather beating down on them and volatilizing the aromatics; do you do this trick? it worked nicely on my photos last year... *** LOL!:face::joint: Taking good pics that show what our eyes see is a real challenge, huh! I'm no photographer, and I have the same trouble with orchid pics too! Yes, 'fog light' or bright indirect helps cut down the shadowing, but it doesn't show details, like sparkly trich's, as well as direct lught; I find that waiting until the sun is fairly low and/or tilting the girls' pots away from the sun gets the light up under there better, and cuts shadows down... Speaking of scoping the sparklies, I'd love to see the magnifier you have! Tell me the make too, if I should want to pick one up... **** So, snap us some freshies of the girls, Mz. S'! You've done a fine job :buds: and I'm enjoying it!... **** yeah, swing by my thread anyway,(try post #76)...it's not the happy place yours is, alas, but I owe frank honesty to all who want to watch and learn, after all that's what a journal's for, right? :toke: I very much appreciate your support and great vibe though, and I hope the next round goes better! We ain't done yet!... :booya:... oh yeah, I meant to ask you about further observations on the soil comparo', RO vs. FFOF..... I'm putting together a new plan, and will be using RO as main soil, and HF for starters, and am seriously thinking of using Smart pots thanks to you and your friends advise! I'll have more details later... Thanks luv! :wiz:

You have done a great job and I too wish everyone could really seek their happiness without stupid outdated laws getting in the way. At first I grew for recreational reasons, since I started growing real herb I have discovered some medical benifits. I have been able to replace my muscel relaxing pills and found I could use pot effectively for pain management. I though the medical stuff about the benifits of pot were BS, I was wrong.

Hey vg :dance2:
So glad you kept an open mind about the medicinal benefits of our beloved cannabis! There's nothing like growing and smoking your own medicine!

Thanks for stopping by! :D

Heya waira! :D

I've heard about the darkness for 2 days but they have always been in the ground and unable to be isolated in the past. LOL Now that they are in containers I could conceivably make the 2nd bedroom "dark." Hmmm. :cough: Thanks for the tip about sun angles and catching the sparkles... May take pics this evening when it cools off.

(PM'd you re: the scope - hope that was helpful!)

I'll be taking final pictures before I harvest any of them and I plan on taking one where the FFOF girls are on one side and Roots Organic on the other. No freaking comparison.

:bong: OK, heading over to your place now. Er, after I post a few quick pics...

SHE'S A MAN, BABY!

Of course I speak of the BlimBurn Seeds AK Auto. Here's the description (only comes in feminized):
Very compact plant which resembles a small Christmas tree. It has a very short internodal distance and small leaves that make it more unnoticeable. Remains green and healthy without the need for extra stimulants. The final height is determined by the growing season and volume of the soil. They are plants that do not reach one meter in height at best. Automatic AK is ideal for urban farming and is very discreet.

LOL I also wouldn't call it short or auto (day 44 no sex):

Day 53 she grew balls overnite! OK, maybe I wasn't looking every day... :firedevil:

Love that pic of HIM, tho - reminds me of an "array" of those dishes that "listen" to outer space... No? Kinda.... :roflcry:

We kinda saw this coming though, right, so no big shocker. Bright side: I have room for the Critical + Auto - only have 1 seed tho, and I'm going to wait to germ it.

:group::group::group::group::group::group:
I'm super-baking to mourn the loss of the AK... Please join me!

Update pics

June 1 taken in indirect afternoon sun.

HA - posting the ladies alphabetically for my convenience... :crack:

6.1 Anne back.jpg Anne from the back, front looks the same as a day or so ago LOL

6.1 Ayesha back.jpg6.1 Ayesha.jpg Ayesha back and front... looks like one of her branches was injured also, but still growing. She's AKR like Anne, and you can see her fan leaves are fading, not yellowed yet.

6.1 Charlotte.jpg6.1 Charlotte back blur.jpg Charlotte front and back. Had a breeze, so some pics (like her back lol) were tough to get in focus. Just starting the fan leaf fade...

6.1 hazel & girls.jpg6.1 hazel fox tailing.jpg Couldn't get a good pic from the back. I like the first pic showing little Hazel with her taller girlfriends :roflcry: 2nd pic shows her foxtailing! Still not sure if that's good or bad, but it is what it is! :pimp: She might be the very last to finish. With Charlotte lol

6.1 Jessica side.jpg6.1 Julie back rotate left.jpg6.1 Jessica.jpg Here is Jessica from 3 sides. She is in no hurry to leave the party, just like her real-life namesake. Cracks me up! :cough:

6.1 Julie back2.jpg 6.1 Julie.jpg Julie back and front. She has a little "spine" issue. lol She was one of the first to show actual yellow leaves, but seems to have slowed her roll for some reason. She's nice and bushy. Love her!

Gonna post this part now so I don't push my luck with so many attachments. Back in a few with the rest of the gals...

We left off with Julie, soooo up next:

6.1 MamaBlue back.jpg6.1 MamaBlue side crop.jpg MamaBlue, who looks suspiciously plump in the first pic, making me think a little of Hazel behind her is showing through... LOL apparently pretty much the same photo at different heights. I think she's going to be a (relatively) early finisher).

6.1 Pamela - nice pic.jpg6.1 Pamela back.jpg I really like the first pic of Pamela, like she has her arms out showing her buds... LOL 2nd pic is not great because of the background buds, but you can see the leaves turning at least.

6.1 princess rotate left.jpg6.1 princess back rotate left.jpg Princess front and back. I think she's in a race with Anne and Pamela to the finish line! :booya:

6.1 Sarah rotate & crop.jpg Heeeere's Sarah! LOL It's the only one where she is still. She's coming right along.

And finally....

6.1 sweet tooth.jpg6.1 sweet tooth back.jpg Sweet Tooth... No name, but she hasn't gotten much attention because she was 10 days behind. I was surprised how good she looks - her buds are the densest in the whole garden and she smells SWEET, if you can imagine. It's like she's kind of been invisible to me but I like what I see! Day 53 for her.

I'm honestly hoping they don't finish for two weeks at least. I'm so greedy - I LOVE watching those buds fatten up and I want MORE! :twist: Any guesses??
This concludes our photo update for today. :bong: Please return your seats to their upright positions and have a pleasant day! Thank you for cruising my backyard!

:smokeit: :smokebuds:

 Giggady-giggady-gig-ah-dee!! Heh-heh-heh,.... Alllriiiight! :hump: I love chicks with hot friends :smoke:

No kidding! Those girls are packin' it on like they're on an all-carb diet  Again, everything happens on fast forward, huh! You'll get your wish, since they still have a little more to go. If you haven't seen it, in the new growers forum there's a great 'sticky' by Muddy-san that talks about accessing harvest time with auto's,... and there are marked differences!... a must read :check: I'm seeing it with my girls too, though when it's cool things bog down noticeably; the warmer it is, the faster this ripening goes... You get much nicer weather nowadays, lucky! You know how things are down at my bay,...FOG-sun-FOG.... Where are you on feeding strength/frequency, Mz. S'? ...just I can gauge when using RO soil.. (pics look good, BTW) ...All your posse (more giggady!) looks fantastic, just like they should, I think! The AK girls seem to be handling the 'hosing' just fine,... :roflcry: I'm tellin' ya, Hazel has a twin down here in my MI5; they're so squat and beefy it's silly! With the sun leaves removed, the plants would be nearly unrecognizable as MJ- you could have an open balcony full of them, and folks would be smelling it, and gloss right over them visually... The PE chicks are my fav's, now looking totally Dr. Seuss :D I wouldn't be surprised if the freakin' Lorax came out and bit your ankles when you tried to harvest! LOL! And I gotta say Sarah is a cool little plant- it's like a mirror image right down the center...(poor thing* lol!)
She is in no hurry to leave the party, just like her real-life namesake. Cracks me up! :cough:

--- Hmmm, reeeally... :brow: The more I hear, the more I would like to meet some of your friends, Sapphire... :D LMAO!! Lord knows what a dead-zone my area is for dating and such!

Yeah, I forgot about her, and we shouldn't have, huh! She needs a name,.... how about Honi, as in the Viking lass from Hagar the Horrible comic strip? :smoke: Okay, time to bounce over to your message at my thread.... c-ya there!

Oh yeah!
SHE'S A MAN, BABY!
--- Frickin' BlimBurned Shwag Seed co.! At least you saw this coming, and spotted the dangle-berries before he-she could befoul the other ladies! At least it was free, never mind the waste if time and materials....:face: D'Oh!!
Love that pic of HIM, tho - reminds me of an "array" of those dishes that "listen" to outer space... No? Kinda.... :roflcry:
Spot on, luv! That's him lookin' to get jiggy wi' some unsuspecting hoochie-mamas!:booya: LMAO!! And indeed, it frees up space for a new late-to-the-party 'friend'.... got one in mind? (referring, of course, to one of your actual human friends who's just so...) :brow: **** Superbaking must go down later,... gonna need it too, 'cause I was writing a response to you at my thread, and was almost done,... then some 2-key misstroke and the fucking page jumped on me, and all was lost!!:cuss::finger: :cuss::finger: :cuss: in 3-part harmony... So, I'll redo it later, but meanwhile we have a nice family gig here at home.... Mmmmm, smoked pork shoulder,... *pant pant*

*snort!* :smoke: Man, they are getting some love today! :booya:

I saw the thread by Muddy of which you speak a while ago, and now that you mention it I see they are right about on track! I think I messed up the days (i'm not surprised LOL), but I did the math, and the end of 12 weeks for all the autos except Honi is June 18, which is about 2 more weeks! Honi will finish 12 weeks June 27, so I have some guidelines there.

Oh, obviously I accept your nomination to name the Sweet Tooth Honi! I loved that comic years ago. Quick question - do you happen to know how to say it? Is it like coney or honey I wonder. Not that she will care!! :crying:

I'm tellin' ya, Hazel has a twin down here in my MI5; they're so squat and beefy it's silly! With the sun leaves removed, the plants would be nearly unrecognizable as MJ- you could have an open balcony full of them, and folks would be smelling it, and gloss right over them visually...

Oh. My. Goodness.... I'm DYING thinking about how they will look "extra" naked without their leaves since they are SO hiding all the goodies! I was going to say like a wet cat, but I hope they don't shrink THAT much!

I've been watching out for that ankle-biting Lorax since you mentioned it... LOL Thanks for the heads up! :cough:

About the dude - get this - I was SO tired of checking and checking and checking and checking... that by the time I discovered the pollen sacks, some had already burst! I'm such a noob I had no idea... One of my pics even shows a spent one! They weren't all open, but seems like there is a possibility of a seed or a few... I've never checked out breeding, so I don't know the "optimal" time to pollinate the buds but I suspect it was earlier in the process tho, so the seeds would have time to mature. OK now I'm rambling.

As always, thanks for stopping by and for the hilarious conversation! Hope that pork shoulder was deeeelicious!
