Hi all, I'm going to run a 4-pot auto system in one box and a 5-pot smartpot hand-watering jobby in the other. Using soil, perlite, Biotabs starter pack, PK tea & Ecothrive Charge.

My question is, being in the UK and with the UK tap water in mind, are there any particular brands or types of soil that work better with the Biotabs range? Currently run Plant Magic. And am I correct in thinking that I will need to add in some Dolomite Lime for the Cal/Mag issues under LED?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not mr Biotabs (he's a lovely guy!) .. but i did do a biotabs grow with a few tips and stuff from Mephisto who put me on to them.

I used biobizz light mix soil.
I only used Light mix ... 2-3 biotabs and water. It worked reaonably well.

If i could go back in time - i'd use their startrrex and some of the other additions such as the PK juice (not the tea for me as i don't have the setup to brew teas in my grow area)

Good luck :D

Edit: Ahhh - the tap water! ugh ... well i did the crazy thing of buying that tescos bottled water with a PH of 6.2.
I'm curious to see how just tap water will do ... mines over 7.5 .... hmph.

@blue thanks for that advice! saw that on the memphisto grow guide too. Might go with that, or Tropic mix as it contains some extra stuff for cal/mag which I know I will run into issues with, being an LED guy.

Just finished a grow with biobizz and biotabs only with extra calmag the only thing needed with the led ( done with plant magic ) 3.5 oz of AvT In a 15 litre airpot for my 2ng grow so can't complain at all really

So as a beginner not knowing much :p biobizz and biotabs do work and produce results

do you mean the Old Timer magnesium?

I use lightmix and biotabs mate. I was using lightmix and AN nutrients before. With COB led's.

None of my biotabs plants have needed any calmag of any sort added. The only one that showed any sign of calmag def was a sour stomper that was about two inches from a cob.

I personally would try it without first, as in my experience adding unnecessary calmag can cause all sorts of issues in flowering.
