Hey There !!

This is my first post at AFN and here is my short story. I've been thinking about growing my own plant for a year maybe but never had a time because of my job and my college. I stopped working so i have a lot of free time so started to search about growing marijuana and saw a blog about autoflowers and feminized seeds and how easy it is now to grow a plant at home. i decided abt my seeds - Dutch Passion Auto Think Different Feminized - and started to search everything about autos for a week and ended up in your journal. I simply love it, read every post in it to get information as much as possible since your strain is the same with the one i choose.

I am inspired with your grow and already ordered my seeds. I am now building my grow room which is a small toilet in my house. I am building my setup atm and would like to know if my setup is correct.


Dimentions of the room : 1.5m x 0.9m and 2.40m height.
Pots : 2x 25lt plastic pot (i will grow 2 plants in the room)
Seed : TD auto feminized
Soil : 1x 50lt Biobizz light mix
Nutes : Biobizz's (Grow - Bloom - Topmax - RootJuice - Formulex)
Light :
- 400w Philips MH (for the veg stage)
- 400w Philips Pia Plus HPS (for flowering stage)
- 2x 36w Florescents on two sides of the room. (on both stages)
- I will have a reflector but not a cooltube for time being. Maybe later when i have more money.

I will have fans for air circulation. Another fan facing between light and pot.(like yours).
I will make a carbon filter on my own using one of the DIY guides.

I have a couple of questions tho, i can't find Formulex anywhere, is there anything that you can advise to replace it with Formulex?
Would my carbonfilter be enough to be able to filter the smell from 2 TD plants, since i have absolutely zero idea about its smell, your thought is important.

Its going to be my first-ever-ever grow, and i am planning to make a journel as yours. Keep in mind im a totally newbie at growing a plant.
Any help would be apprecieted.

All of that looks grand to be fair bud. All I can recommend on top of that is getting some CalMag supplement if you haven't got anything like Epsom salts.
Have you got a pH meter? You'll want one of those, I use the HM Digital one.

What kind of fluorescent lights were you thinking of using? The tube type? I'd very highly recommend some LED lights if you can afford them (order Chinese wholesale, DON'T buy the Hydrogrow ones as they're a con), they provide great supplemental light if you're putting them on the sides or even in conjunction with your primary lights. I got two 50w LED UFO lights for £80 from China and they're smashing.

If you make a good carbon filter it shouldn't be a problem removing smell. You'll need extraction though, which is basically just a fan that pulls air out of the room by ducting. Otherwise the air is just passively getting filtered and it will escape the room. Are you buying a grow room or making your own one? When they're just finishing up flowering, if you've got healthy plants with big buds the smell she puts out is very strong.

Just a few things you're gonna want to consider before you grow:

• Can you keep the temperatures at about 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit? A 400W HPS light is going to put out of a lot of heat, make sure you can control it. For that you need extraction and if it's still too hot then an intake too.
• If applicable can you keep your grow stealthy?

Thanks man! It didn't last quite as long as I had hoped but it lasted for a long time Some of the best smoke I've had!

Actually, that is a better way to trim. When some of the leaves are left on the bud it protects the trics and keeps them from being knocked off easily. Unfortunately the general public has come to expect their buds to be clean and when they see leaves left on, automatically assume it's not good product.

Nice grow man.. seems like you did a bad job on the trimming of the buds though.... they look leafy as hell... get your trimmers and get RIGHT DOWN close to the bud get all of those leafs off
