This is the first post i had seen about the space buckets..
I guess the oil has been too good to me lately lol. Your grow is looking sweet though and i'm glad you are achieving success. Can't wait to see your final product

you wont believe , my computer is all hosed up too. was only able to turn it on today haha.
Man i really appreciate your words and i thank you for your time giving me some tips.:tiphat: AFN's vibe is for sure the best.
im learning alot just looking around the forum. ive a ph meter already and i bought GH's ph up and down kit.ph wont be an issue no more. will try to slowly bring my RH down.
i think she is really liking the taste of silica dude.Good luck with your computer bro.youre ALWAYS welcome here EOF.

Hey dude. They look all kinds of sex man!!Nice n health, eautiful job. Keep bubblin your water,it provides a bit more O2 to your root zone and makes it more active. You can(should rather) invest in a very inexpensive General hydroponics (or similar brand)PH up n down kit. out 15 bucks and will last you for maaaany maaaany grows to come.Excellent deal.

Awesome idea bout the glass shield too.Ill rep you when I can.Im on a loaner Laptop,Mines all hosed up atm.LOL!suuucks!!But te RH is good atm but when it starts to blow up with the first set of leaves, you'll want to try and dial it back slowly over a week or two to around 40% is safe till you start to flower.then a safe bet it around 20-30% with airflow.always airflow.you will (in time) want to maybe remove the glass shield, but not 100% on that.great idea too.Not familar with rhino skin but if its a silica additive Im sure it'll be fine.Just remember starter feeding strength till your first set of leaves are a poppin up.Ill pop back when I can in about a week or sooner If I can.But you should be all kinds of awesome for weeks to come bro with what your doing man!!+rep!!

you can stop bubblin your water if PH is an issue.but once you have your PH kit,its a great idea to invest in a PH meter(40-60 bucks is a good meter,Hanna or sumthin similar)you can get em really cheap just keep em calibrated cuz they fade(usually high) towards one end. then you should bubble yur water everytime.other than that brother your frigin spot on man.heres to you growing a kick ass plant buddy.ill talk attcha soon.

thank you starass! yeah man i got the glass shield idea from the original Space bucket.it was really worth doing this. All Ekrof's idea are awesome ,you would really like looking around his website(spacebuckets.com)
lets see what i can get!! Stick around!
peace:peace:

soo..
im on day 14 and i really think that something is slowing my growing. she also has a weird shape.
im feeding it 0.3ml/L root juice (6.6 pH) and misting it with a little bit of rhino skin a few times a day.
just wondering if she is not too small for 14 days and if it is not because of the heat or my soil's pH...

if your soil PH is 6.6 you should be alright. Not familiar with Rhono skin enough to ive you exact info. but ive not heard of misting with Silica.Ive always put it within my watering/feeding mix.It does looka touch small for 14 days but couldnt open the pic.sodont really know. You running CO2 and silica?that should stave off a lot of you rheat stresses.you aplied silica toyou water or feeds?and if your misting with anything in a high heat situation with fair light,it can burn n stunt your plant cuz of mimerals and stuffs left on the leaves.act as a small microscope n burns sometimes and applies direct heat to areas of your plant.it can cause issues.Hope that helps bro.I couldnt see the pic.sorry.plus if its hot the major temp changes will stunt the heck outta yer plant if misted with cooloer water.Always be cautious of misting n leaf feeding(foliar feeding)

my watering pH is 6.6. next feeding im trying to check my runoff pH.yea im running co2 too. about the silica , im using a small spray bottle at the base of the sprout like 3-4 times a day. going to mix it with rootjuice next time. the last 4 days my temps were around 26-28C so it has to be the pH i guess..

ya,if you havent checked yer run off to know and all is right like it seems to be.yeah get that PH run off. so ya have a better knowing of which way to go.I thougt you were misting the plant itself.yeah man,add a solid dose of silica to your next watering.Thats really all i got brother.sorry I couldnt be better help for ya bro.nutes are not my strong point at all."AFN smoke out"be good dude and good luck my friend!!

I wish Goooooooooooooooood vibeeeeeeeeeees broooo

Awesome bucket, i wish have something like that down here in brazil

Hey PG, just swinging by from the Live Help thread. I have never seen the space buckets before - pretty cool! It seems to me that you have still got some environmental issues to work out, which is going to be tough given the limitations of your grow space. As I'm not a micro grower, I don't want to start throwing out suggestions that may or may not be right for your situation. One thing to keep in mind is that while the glass has helped your temperatures, it also reduced the usable light by maybe 10% or more. I have a vented glass hood on my HPS, and I move it closer to the plants to make up for the any loss of light caused by the glass. The lower temps allow me to do this. In your case, the design of the space does not allow you to get the plant closer to the lights, and with CFLs, that is important. You said you may go to a pot placed inside the bucket next time, and that would be a good idea since it will give you the ability to move the plant upwards when it is smaller.

You mentioned getting an LED, but remember that you must keep a minimum distance from the plants to avoid bleaching. I think at least 15cm if not more, so fitting it all in the bucket could be tough. I recommend consulting with the pros in the LED forum before buying anything. Lastly, you said you never got any runoff when watering. In that case you should keep watering until it finally comes out the bottom. If you let the soil at the bottom of the pot get too dried out, it will become hard for it to absorb water and it will be useless to the plant. Half perlite and half Sunshine mix should be a light mix with good drainage, so I'm not sure why you would be having trouble getting runoff.

Sorry I couldn't be of much help! Trying to grow in such a tiny space is so different from my tent growing that I don't feel like I can add a lot to the discussion. :dunno::Sharing One:

Hi ParceraoGrower!

I have just recently grown a Northern Lights Auto in a space bucket as well. I'll share some knowledge of what I have learned from doing this grow. This was my first grow attempt as well, and it came out quite well. Unfortunately, I have updated my Note 3 to Kit Kat 4.4.2 during class, and now my SD Card is not reading in any media devices (phone, tablet, sd adapter to pc), so I will have to write it down, until I get home in about 4 hours and post some pictures of my spacebucket setup.

With the ferts you have posted on your first page, it seems that you are using organic fertilizers. Later, you have written that you have bought the GH pH up and down kit. I have learned from our brothers and sisters on AFN is that that kit will damage the live organisms that's contained in your fertilizers. So I stopped using that kit and started using the Earth Juice Natural Up and Natural Down, with a pretty good quality pH tester and a solution to prevent the pH pen from drying out. It might seem quite expensive, but I assure you that you will get your monies worth out of it (I've used it every feeding and watering and the runoffs, ever since I've gotten it).

For placing the soil into your housing container, I have done mine a bit differently. I have used a homemade pot and placed soil in there, instead of placing the soil directly into the bucket. Pros: Easier to check when to water; and to check for pH runoff. Cons: Less room for the roots, so smaller plant; with modifications, it made the overall plant taller, so less height room for more grow.

I know that all spacebuckets are not the same, which makes things more interesting. However, how I have setup my spacebucket is by having one intake fan centered on the side of the bucket, and two exhaust fans on the lid, with a big hole in the center. I have used a "Y" socket adapter, light bulb socket to outlet adapter, and used two 23w 2700k CFLS. Then plugged into an extension cord to be able to adjust the height of the distance from bulbs to top of plant.

I have only used Buddha Grow, Buddha Bloom, and Surge by Roots Organics, with FFOF for soil, and CaMg+ by General Organics (used every watering and feeding ever since I've bought it).

I have started the grow by only using just the 5 gallon bucket and lid until two-three weeks into flowering and then I have added the second layer to it until it was finished. It was small, but nonetheless, it was a successful grow and it came out absolutely beautiful, at 5 grams.

I do not want to come off as bragging, nor telling you what to do. And that this is how I have done it, so FWIW, I hope this helps out a bit.
I, as well as our other brothers and sisters on AFN, will try to help as best as we can.

I apologize for the long post. Here's a kitty to distract you from the long post. :kitty:
