Hello,

I am a proud owner of a MS006 GrowNorthern LED :)

This thread will be ongoing and updated with photos from my current grows and general information such as light heights, benefits that I'm seeing in my cab and maybe down the line I'll want to go for some upgrades (although for now I am pleased as punch with my setup)

Why did I choose GrowNorthern LEDs?

  • I've been watching Tangs grows for a while, which put me on to other GN users. The results they get speak for themselves.
  • The price of the unit - (especially considering the size of my cab and the fact that this will be my one light for the forseeable future) is very fair. I'm the kind of person who would replace the HPS bulb every grow or so.
  • I had heat problems - HPS in a small cab without a cool tube caused me woes. With the heat came low humidity. (fine for flowering but not so good for veg)
  • The customer service provided through emails/live chat (and the fact that they are here at AFN) is awesome! Dan and Jeremy are top guys.

So, thanks for looking - hope you enjoy the pictures. Feel free to ask any questions! ^_^

All the best
Blue ^_^

Current Benefits.

The light seems to give off no heat!

The temperature in my cab has dropped from 85f to 75f since swapping 250w HPS for LED
The humidity has raised considerably - up to 65% RH from 30-40% max
I can get my light as close as i need to without any fear of burning them. (LED light leaching aside)
My girls are growing more quickly than i have ever seen. Easily putting on a inch a day (light height 15inches)

No fire risk (or at least burning myself risk!)
Lower eleccy bills - I'm only on a 4 spot at the moment, but will pump up the power when i hit full flower.

I'm seeing a lot of benefits so far.
I'll keep updating as things progress, but for now - happy happy! ^_^

I'll be following this, blue. Much as I love growing outdoors, pests such as spider mites are a real problem (have had them to some extent on every grow so far this year). Security is also a major consideration as gardeners have free access to my property.

All I need to decide is whether it will be a GN0004 or a GN0006. :yay:

Best of luck with your grows, mate.

Welcome aboard :)
The advice I was given is the advice i would give to you. If you go for the ms0006, you get a switch that will allow 2 spots for germination and seedling stage, 4 spots for most of the growth and then pump up the power with 6 for full flowering!

It looks like it's working well - cant wait for flower to get my unit fully cranked up :)
I've now got next to no heat aswell - so no open windows! and my fan is running quieter because its not working so hard to take out the heat! So less electricity used aswell!
So far I'm more than pleased :) I can't stop taking a peek in the cab!

Nice thread Blue

Can you confirm you can switch to 2,4 or 6 spots with the new 06?

Hi Villain - Thanks :)

I can confirm that the email i received from grownorthern on 4th Oct says the new units will have the switch.

Yeah we will be selling the switchable unit from now on.

Cheers Blue

So looking at your pics you could just have the 2 centre spots on?

Yeah that's right!

I was a little confused at first because you only get 2 switches (and i can be a bit dense lol)
One switch turns on the 4 outside modules, and one switch turns on the 2 inside modules

Press them both and you've got a real disco going on!

Appreciate that thanks:thumbs:

I'm inbetween grows atm because of a merchant banker! also considering changing my light setup in the cabinet, sounds perfect.
