See what I mean? It kicked my ass; I may be the world's worst photographer, but I haven't taken a shot of a finger in over thirty years. How do you even do that with a digital point and shoot?

I should report the embarrassing part of the day, in the interest of honesty if nothing else. After the first post, I got back to work and promptly spilled the trim bowl all over the floor. The floor that is carpeted and hasn't been vacuumed in over a week. With three cats. If you think I was going to pick that shit up and pull out cat hair, you're higher than I am. So, the trim bag has only half of what it should.

Alas, another plant fell victim to the chop. Toof came down this morning, and what a load of work! I was going to do 24 as well, but she can wait a bit! After checking on my drying buds from Carat, I decided that the brown bag method is not for me, which meant I had to trim the way most of you do for hanging. Maybe it's just me, but this seems to be a lot more work than just cutting off a bud at a time and doing a buzz cut. The reason I decided to switch to hanging is that the big colas from Carat look more like arrowheads than buds. Kind of flattened on two sides and such. I'll go with hanging so they look like buds! Anyway, here's photos of the results:

Look quick! Is it 267.3 or 267.4? Quit breathing back there!

There were a handful or two of smaller buds, but they went into the trim bag. Doesn't seem to be quite as important to capture each and every little bud now that I have the bubble bags...

24 may come later today, may wait until tomorrow or even monday. Hell, it's indica; it'll do it good! As for D.K., the problem child of the grow, well, she's still a few days away.

Okay, enough fine tuning; 24 went down tonight. I was pretty merciless in my trim; lots of little buds went into the trim bag. Yet this little girl outweighed my other 24 Carat, at least with wet weight. Just goes to show you, healthy is good!

The little bud on the side is some Toof Decay I apparently missed when cleaning up this morning. When I think of the times I've searched high and low for something to smoke, and now I see bud everywhere I look in my apartment. Enough to actually 'misplace' a bud that size. Amazing.

Um...it's a one bedroom apartment, guys; I'm running out of curtain rods.
The smells not as bad as I thought it would be...as long as I don't leave the apartment and come back!

By the way, while cleaning the scissors, I finally figured out what the taste was: it;s just that good old hash taste I remember from my Navy days. Ah, memories...

Wow. Thanks, Mitch; I appreciate that!

24 was down to 62 today, so she's jarred up. Here's her final weigh in.

I tried a little sample of Toof Decay this morning. The best word I can think of to describe the high is "pleasant", which really sounds too mild. Very smile-inducing. I guess "euphoric" is the appropriate word. The kind of weed you'd smoke and then charge out to take on the world!

Well, I'll give it a try. I haven't done a smoke report yet because the only thing I've grown before this is the Sour Crack and "beats the shit out of street weed in Eastern Oregon" pretty much sums it up. These two will give me a bit more experience and comparison points, so that should help.

Embarrassing noob tip: if you decide to hang all your weed on one of those 'clothes-drying rack' thingies, it works great, just make sure you have photos of the hanging weed on hand so you can remember which strain is which...

Toof hit 62 today; 24 is still a day or so away, and D.K. apparently doesn't get it. She's still in the tent chuggging away. Here's the weighing of Toof; I had to use the 'wet weight' turkey pan-the tray that came with the scale wasn't big enough. Awwwwww....

Apparently leaving those long stems on for hanging really pumped up the wet weight. Still, that's 95 grams so far, over twice my entire first grow. Plus two plants to go. Call me cocky, but I'm going ahead and taking the pledge: no more buying weed for me!
