Mice and other critters like to do this when you leave the room .The dark cycle is a likely time for this.I have lost some speacal strains in the past. All you can do is see what happens. Here is a prevention tip.I place my seedling in a shallow bucket or something similiar. Then place screening(window screen works fine) over top of the bucket( use some type of band to hold screening in place) with the cups and seedlings inside safe from pest. Then place under light. There are many pest that like fresh seedlings!

Babys plants snapping in the middle

today my i discover my super cali haze from short stuff was ripped and held on by the littlest thread what can i do to make it live or is there anything i can do to guarantee it to make it alive??? just happened today and also i just left it and diged it under the dirt to connect it that all i did not tape it or anything just buried the rip part onto of the other riped part and just burried is that the right thing to do kinda drivin me crazy??i know its a mouse or rodent problem or animal the break is always under the soil so has to be from the soil probly i use roots soil and also i do it in safe environment so i def kno aint no type of aniamal or bug problem but something is cutting my plants in half when there like a week old happen 3 times always under the soil near where it connects at i use plugs so i dig out the dirt and its snapped were the plug and dirt meets someone help please

Thinking possibly that the light is to far away causing the seedlings to stretch to much than thAts is why they are snapping? Just an idea, pics and more detail :)
Sending healing karma your way man.

i am a new grower is it possible for the light to be to far away from the plant casein it to strecth to much to fast and thats why its snapping is that possible i got a hps about 5 feet above it

LOWER THAT LIGHT! Could get away with 24 to 36" maybe even closer if air cooled... That's exactly what's happening to them to cause them to snap.
Sending a good grow karma your way! Don't give up... You'll get it!
Peace

Btw how many watts is the hps?

What wattage is your light, what is your ENTIRE setup and could we get pictures of the seedlings? The more info you give us the better the advice you get, otherwise all we can do is speculate.

I actually just had a similar problem with one of mine but its not snapped off just keeps falling over. Its weird they are all 6 days old and they all look good and then yesterday this girl just plopped over I have her supported and standing up now but still a lil worried... I will say that she is the tallest of all the plants but her leaves are so far the smallest... but really not that much smaller then the others...no pests other then the fungus gnats that I am currently battling ... anyway you can go to my thread for more detail but here are the basics : 1000 Watt HPS running at 75% strain StarRyder . I am running 2 oscillating fans and have been since the start . and then another tower fan running through the hood... temp low 68 lights out temp high 80 humidity between 35 and 55 typically closer to 40, growing in root riots in soil.
