Curious if you are targeting to harvest at peak when trichs are cloudy and maybe a few are amber, can you expect no clear trichs at all? Or should I be expecting to see some clear trichs like maybe 10%?

Lowers will always be less mature. Ideally you should chop tops and then in 7-14 days the rest.
I chop when 90%+ cloudy. Some amber (mostly on leaves) and some clear are always present. It's all proximate.

Thanks. Makes sense. I do usually harvest tops first. And that is what I put under my microscope to check trichs. Then harvest lowers a week or so later. Just wasn't' sure about the clear trichs and if they are always some there.

So if I see like 10% amber that is what should be my key it sounds like. That is easier to use as a rule instead of how much is cloudy/clear. Its pretty easy to visually judge 10% amber.

I always chop the girls 60/40 so 60 milky 40 amber.. But hey thats my thing[emoji39][emoji111]️

I generally harvest my sativa plants when almost all cloudy. Indica I harvest when there is a good amount of amber.

It really all depends on where you want your buzz to be at a little bit clear to cloudy you get a more awake energetic not so down and euphoric buzz. But the more Amber you got the more sit down on your ass buzz you get.
harvest anywhere in there as long as you're close to being in a harvest time that you're plant supposed to be in at.
I harvest according to what my clients want if my clients want them a indica style sit down and all I can do is flip the freaking TV around and eat Funyuns then I'll grow them into Amber deep but if a client wants a more energetic and lightning Buzz that doesn't take you to the couch and lock you there then I'll Harvest more towards the clear and mostly opaque and hardly any amber it all just depends on what you're looking for.[emoji267][emoji111]

Roger that. I understand the difference between amber and cloudy and the effect. I was more curious about whether all the clear trichs should be totally absent or if some will be there even when xx% are amber. I'm trying to understand harvest timing better as I go along.

Well like @KonopCh said there's always going to be some clears.
More on the lowers.
Some plants don't change a lot from clear to amber.
I had a Devil cream auto last summer that never went to amber I kepted her going long past her due date like 3 weeks + past. And she realy was well done tho.
I don't practice the topping and then let them grow I just don't have time for that when I take a plant I take them all take the whole thing but some people practice the topping and then going down getting a lowers I've tried it it works Its no big deal to me I just make some hash or oil out of the lower's if I can't use it for flower.[emoji267][emoji111]

I just finished trimming the lowers of a think different that I took the tops of last week. I'm not sure I want to drag things out like that all the time. If I have the time and the next run is basically standing by as seedlings I can give more time to amber up. There are so many right options when it comes to growing meds. Gotta love it.

And right now I love trimming because of the smell I get off all that bud right in my face. To be continued.
