Hey Everybody!, I want to know is it possible to Top Auto's?

Abracadabra!

It is possible with some of the newer hardy growing Autos, but it's not recommended for new Auto growers. Becuase autos are on a life an death timer, the logic says that any time repairing is time that it isn't growing.

Some of the seasoned growers will top/fim/supercrop autos .. but in the main, leaf tucking or some gentle LST will serve you better.

So it's kinda "try at your won risk .. but you were warned" lol ^_^

Thanks, I have just bought some Think Different seeds, i haven't grown with Auto's before so i thought i would throw that question out there.

Think Different should work out awesome for you.

I would suggest looking into Low Stress Training (essentially tieing branches down to the side of the pot to keep the canopy even) to ge the best out of her - she can grow nice and big!

Im using HPS Lighting - 600w for 4 x Think differents, do you reckon i would be better off using HPS or LED'S, or is there any difference when it comes to lights?

Both! Make it like a future disco party!!

There are differences. HPS will be hotter and typically cost more in "running costs"

LED's work great .. but good ones are expensive in "setup costs"

You'll get less calmag def with HPS (i think we're agreed on that) .. Canna think it's something to do with transpiration and the with the less heat of the LED i guess there is less transpiration (i'm guessing based on a comment from DP Tony about a converstation with canna)

I love my LED but.... I'm a small small cab grower - and in my opinion LED is the best thing for that. HPS was too hot, CFL not pokey enough and still hot.
Now i have LED i need a tube heater (lol) to get the environment in a good range.

You'll be gratefull for LED's in a hot summer and maybe draw them back for a cold winter.

Hello majicman, if you dont mind me chimming in here. I grew 3 think different plants with a 600 watt hps, first grow and chopped too early but still made out just over 11 oz. You will live growing her

My advice is BIG pots. Big roots big fruits applies with think different for sure. And like blue said, lst or scrog will reward you greatly. Im excited for you, i bet you pull about a lb give or take

Thx Blue, So your kinda sayin, HPS for winter, LED for summer?
I have always grown under HPS, im a total newb when comes to auto's n LED's.
Have you grown Think different??

Not yet... but everyone i know that's grown it (and there were TONNES when it came out - so exciting!!!) has said it's a beauty and yields very nicely!

If you can control the heat of the HPS and you're already setup, stick with it. It's kinda old tech now .. but hell does it work! lol

I've got my best results using LEDs, but i've progressed up to this point so it could be natural learning curve too!
(and i'm no super-grower lol)

Thanks for that Mate, i needed to hear that, so Think different is a BIG Yiedler? What was it like when it dried, was the bud sexy, did it smell good??
Was it aesthetically pleasing?
