I've used stuff similar to this in our last place to help with noise with a boiler that was really noisy right on the other side of the wall where my wife and I slept.

Also here is a decent but cheap dial... Fan Dial

Probably 30% or so,Needed to get the noise down so wife would quit bitching while she watched tv as the cab is directly bellow her in the basement and could here it through the floor lol

Lol ya last house I was in the room in basement I had tent in was under dinning room lol and you could hear it at times.... so if I had anyone coming over I'd remove a few gallons of water from my fish tank . Which made it loud enough to cover up the noise ... than would have company be like your fish tanks need more water .... lol I never noticed thanks ... all get right on that

I've noticed over the last few days my in line filter is making a bit of a funny sound at times ... than stops ... I think it's on it's last legs mabye.... I've had it going for six years ....
