sorry look I just wanted a clear line of rules so it would be less bickering and defending for the more clever people that realize there are rules for a reason and lean against that fence is not cheating at all

BUT, quite honestly a 32.0z hempy filled w/ perlite or coco for that matter to be compaired to as the same as a cup that can't be turned into an air pot so there must be a limit to the amount of holes allowed in the cup at some point then??
this is why I don't want there to be any question In what can be done
a hempy provides ample air but also benefits from a tiny res to draw from where containers only have moisture allowed that is drawn and held
and talking about things like perlite some people can't hand water it a bunch of times a day so can they use drip feeders?
(I won't be but others might?)
man I know this all seems silly but in the end these are things that will leave a salty taste in some peoples mouth if clear guides aren't drawn and some creative people get thrown under the bus for following the few rules ?

By the listed rules I can have a foot tall 32.oz container of perlite hempy w/ drip feed irrigation against hand watered soil in a cup (wow hope they atleast got some hummic's goin' on)
that isn't playin' fair to me at all


I personally liked just sweet tea cups but, I see why other containers are allowed of course
I have done plenty grown in those cups to back anything somebody claimed wasn't on the level or able to be done so I have no worries

I am clearly doing this for fun as I didn't intend on excepting the prize of the seeds and was going to have them given to somebody that wanted or should I say needed them
so I don't care about anything but the fun
Heck I even like ideas like limited watering class , or limited wattage class
like an AFN Olympics a bunch of dif events
I want to be fair and understood across the board so there are no later distractions from just plain fun of growing
better to establish these while we have five days to go and time to discuss
seeing as how we haven't even strted and vegged them yet and people are wondering if they can soak them early
and at exactly what time zone 12:00 to drop beans
Geez those specific not established rules and questions already I just see what's down the road and didn't want the fun bogged down or ruined later w/ drama and bs
for me this was going to be silly fun, kiddy sand castle buckets ,Sheriffs dept cup(MAZAR mix in side ), all kinds of silly goodies for containers

Any way no worries here just sayin' w/o clear guides you don't know which base to run to after you hit the ball it isn't even a question of cheating or even bending the rules for that matter if the rule isn't there to bend how can one be bending it
just want to be fair and not have 50 crying pm's sent about "look what such and such is doing that's not fair they're cheatin' "

So lets roll one up have a pint and hash it out

There's no point in complicating it so far that every rule is scrutinized.. I mean, really.. it's for fun. I've seen a lot of competitions go down on AFN and never heard of folks feeling cheated or slighted.. holes don't make an airpot, I remember there was a user who took his cup and filled it with holes and landscape fabric the last time we had this competition - his plant didn't thrive as much as others.

It's a fun competition, have fun with it.. don't worry about all the BS.. you want to use a drip feeder, go ahead.. who's going to complain? You say a foot tall 32oz container with a drip system isn't fair, but if some one wants to put that much into their 32oz cup - then so be it. I honestly feel like you're too worried about "people cheating" - that's typically not that consensus here.

So many things make a difference in the size of a plant, I highly doubt two grow rooms between two different users will be identical - so there's already an uncontrolled variable. When you start nitpicking at all of the little things, shit really stops being as fun. Keep it fun, don't turn it into a congress debate.

I don't consider any of it cheating at all
and I am not at all worried about what others might do
I wish any congress debate was even this specific
that's fine and all but I ask for fairly simple rules
and if one would look half the post are asking all specific variations
I see as bringing a passive feed to waste hydro system against a soil grow is like bringing a motor boat to a raft race to begin w/
it is all in fun like I said but dif classes would also allow the opportunity for smaller less well funded growers a true chance at the prize they probably actually need as opposed to just adding to a collection
