ciao ochocinco. it was not so difficult in the end, after looking at the quickest easiest cheapest way to do it, I found some rotating display turntables. these sell for about £13 each here in uk, so relatively cheap n cheerful usually you might put some display piece on it or use it in a shop to display some product. Each takes 2 "C" cells and has two speeds hi/low. Either is fine really, im using HI on the turntable on the left which is carrying two pots, since the extra load. They'll take up to 2KG each. Cells seems to last quite good not had to change yet and they have been going maybe 3 weeks ish already. Could be wired into a mans adaptor if necc I guesse, but I want to see if they end up going months anyway, then its no hassle and keeps the area clearer with less wires.
This particular model one uses the two cells in parallel, so there is 1.5V across the motor not 3V. The lower speed when you switch is managed by a diode in series which drops the voltage from 1.5 to probably 0.9 or 1V.
seems to be doing a fair job, I mean when I take shots from overhead you can see the plant is pretty equally spreading in all directions and the stalks are all aiming straight up. maybe not critical so far as the whole thing is diamond mylar'd , but later I think it will make a difference since im going to have my two led grow tube lights on the two long sides of the cabinet. this way I shouldnt need to put lamps everywhere to get even results.

the bases I made were just mdf and a jigsaw so I can balance >1 pot on a turntable if needed.
theres a bit more in my grow diary thing, link below.

I had before only 2 turntables so the setup above but the 3-pots ones was getting too heavy and stuttering, so I got 2 more and now only 1 tuntables is shared by 2 plants, the other 3 have their own turntable.
probably going further I might eject 1 plant from the runnings and have just the four going round each on her own stand.
also nice is when I go to check the plants or take pics they keep moving so easy to get a good view and keep a close eye.
