Not sure if this has been asked before but does anyone have thoughts on strains that do better in cooler temperatures? It doesn't get super cold where I live but the weather is cool for an extended period of the year.

I'm going with LEDs so I can't reliably keep temperatures above 21C/70F+ without a heating element. Incoming air from my basement is usually around ~ 13C/56F. With air exchange the avg. temperature inside is usually going to be around ~ 18C/65F unless I add a little heat.

Just heating the tent is not a big deal. But thinking ahead to see if there are any cooler loving strains out there to simplify some of the grows and lower my winter utility bill. Thanks for any input!

You might want to consider putting your exhaust fan on a variable speed controller. Slow it down when the weather is cold and keep more heat in your tent. I run an outdoor grow box where I'm pulling outside air directly in. I started with a manual controller, then stepped up to an automatic one. I still run a small space heater to keep the temps up during lights out but don't need it when the lights are on. As long as you change the air in your tent once every 15 minutes you're good.

With cold temperatures and insufficient circulation to conserve heat, the big threat is gray mold. Turns buds to gray mush in a couple of days. I would suggest looking at mold resistant varieties.

Yeah, that Grey Mold sucks...
