I had two plants on a res go about a day without feed. Checked the tent this morning and one of the plants was looking very droopy sad. I noticed the tray for that plant had a lot of salt build up on the sides too. And the try was dry too. This is with AN Sensi A+B Bloom and Carboload and Overdrive. And H&G DripClean. And tap/RO water mixed 50/50.

After each grow, or even more frequently I will soak the lines and valves in a vinegar water solution and scrub them. Also be careful you dont lose track of the little green silicon bits.

During a grow I will take the tubing and run water thru it using a syringe. And then hook it up to the air pump manifold and splice together 3 outlets in to one for a lot of PSI to really clean the line.

But none of that worked for me today. At first. After ruling out the lines I had a closer look at the valve. Where the black tube is screw clamped on to the valve, on the other side of that input, is a tiny little hole that the solution flows out of and in to the tray. The valve I was using looked clean to me on all the visible parts, but I missed some salt build up around that hole. That hole is not very visible. Once I cleaned it up, blew air thru it, all was good.

I try to check levels in the tray every day. And lift the pots to check their weight. But I think at some point you can get a clog somewhere and you might not notice it right away. So one must really check the pot weight and tray solution daily. And consider some sort of weekly flushing of the lines too. Especially if you have some bloom nutes in the res.

I just flush with a syringe once a week when I change the reservoir. That’s something else, if I’m not going anywhere I keep the level down to what they will drink in a week. So far, knock on wood, I have had only one overflow.

IMHO using Drip Clean from H&G with Advanced Nutrients might not be ideal. AN does a lot of stuff to buffer PH that might get precipitated out by the drip clean - the build up you are seeing; or perhaps your water is very hard? Do you know the starting PPM of your water?

I used it with AN Sensi lineup and never had an issue. Never really noticed any salt buildup either so, I am also interested about the hardness of the tap water. Mine has an EC of 0.50 (250ppm) after dechlorinating by bubbling and adding a chloramine remover. Funny thing, since I started using my tap water I have had a lot less issues than with rain or distilled water.

My tap water is medium hard. Its about 300 ppm. I mix it 50/50 with bottled RO water too. Which brings it down to 150 or so. So probably not a hard water issue.

So you think Drip Clean and AN might not play well together? This is my last run using AN for a while. Got some Mega Crop coming, and lots of it.

I have never run AN but I think it is designed for even less starting PPM. They recommend RO which is near 10 PPM or lower!

250 PPM is much too high for AN.

I talked to AN support guys live about this. They always said as long as its not above 200 then its fine. Mine is 150 ppm because I mix tap and RO.
Well that build up is coming from somewhere? Perhaps you can call AN about using drip clean.

You read my mind. I just emailed their grower support and asked them what is the best product to prevent salt build up in irrigation lines.
