Hi guys, end'd up pickn up 3 starRyder's today...wasent planing a grow for another month or so due to a space issue being resolved....but the guy in the shop just happend to say he had a pack there so i gotm and couldnt wait.....not even a day so im gona do another budget cfl just to scratch the itch!!! i have some nutes and soil left over from the last grow about 5-6months ago would they be gone off by now? the soil is plagron bat mix the nutes are BioBizz topmax and plagron power roots.
Also do you think this soil would be to hot for the lil seedlings?:D

I would throw in my two cents if I new, but I don't , I have used older than that and had no ill effects, but I didn't know enough at the time to know if they worked right.

Anyway I thought I would pop this thread to the top of the page to give it some more looks.

bye for now

Eek

Your soil and nutes should be just fine.I don't kow about playgron soil being to hot,but I think it should be ok.

I would say if you are unsure, place a small amount maybe large egg size of compost lite/low nutes, just for the seedling roots to develop, gives the plant a chance to establish and make use of the nutes. My soil is relatively hot/high nutes, that's why i start them in half a toilet roll tube (you could use a small pot...) with plain mix of coco and vermiculite/perlite about 1:1 ratio. Gives the foundation as well as the drainage (lightness for the root to develop.)

EDIT: Forgot to add the soil going off, it depends on how it has been kept.... having it sat in the yard, where worms and other critters can get in will have contaminated it. Another problem is having it dry out to much, so you will need to get the moisture back into it. If it was kept away from this then strictly speaking you may have had some natural decomposition, and that's fine, soil should be fine. Nutes may need to be shook up well, if in doubt check manufacture labels.
