To clarify, when I say "killed off the nearly dead plant" I mean I took off 99% of the growth. I did not want it to actually die, for fear that its roots would rot and damage the living plant. Even in this "zombie" state, its growth exploded during the last 3 weeks of the grow. Hard to describe accurately, but the thing looked to literally come back from the dead. It never flowered, which is not surprising, but you have to admire its tenacity, and the fact that the other plant still managed to eek out nearly a quarter pound of dried flowers. One Gallon Res.
