Mephisto Genetics do you ever defoliate dominant cola fans?

1610CD0E-23D4-4721-9E1C-A81E532EF8FA.jpeg I defoliate heavily. I’m what they call a “serial leaf snatcher”. I often end up with palms full of leaves. I’d say the only bad thing Ive noticed is that it slows growth a little. These plants in the wild get nibbled on by animals and they don’t know the difference between human or critter. When their get leaves taken they compensate. Ive only ever gotten better results from defoliation than not. It helps those little baby buds grow bigger. Try it and let us know. Try a bucket of rice to obsorb the humidity. Good luck on your grow.

Hey guys
small experience grower here

Ive read in commercial horticulture they use beneficial bacteria when there is external damage

I used it when I burned my tops and had to trim them
sprinkled on powder with pepper shaker
they grew back nice and healthy pretty quickly

I wonder if it would help prevent rot if applied to the cut leaf stalk

I think ..it colonises the damaged surface of the plant ..so unfriendly things can’t get a foothold

What product did you use? I do foliar sprays after I defoliate but can't say I noticed a faster recovery.

I say it comes down to the individual plant on recovery time, some don't mind and can take a full leaf strip but others will wilt at the mere thought of loosing a few leaves. Most of the time they are OK with it by just take small few at a time to be safe... now if we was talking photos you could be a bit more adventurous on the leaf strip.
I'm forever removing leave's during flower, especially if they are blocking a bud sites

what foliar spray do you use... I use Optic Foliar and can't live with out it, noticeably speeds up all recovery and growth... I have seen an acceleration in auto's when used on them, mine always got that bit more bushy.

optic foliar too. i have the small bottles of watts, rev etc and mix up what is basically overdrive. ni have no reference to other foliar to compare to so its hard for me to judge it

same her nothing to compare to but I do see it make difference and I really notice when I run out. Feel a bit naked in the groom with out it... I buy the pre mixed 5ltr bottles to save on the cash.

I use TNC bactorr s13 powder - from uk
Its like great white I think

I haven’t figured out how to use it in sprayer (..particle size I think) - i gave up after gumming-up several times

So for a freshly cut leaf stalk - i dip the end into a small spoon of the powder which then sticks to the right place

I have to add I’m a beginner ..so really it’s a guess how much this would help
I suppose it could get laborious if it was more than a few leaves

I’m only just starting to try defoliation - to get direct light to lower bud sites

Take it ez on sativa's, timing is a bit more important, do it less at least until solid flowering.

You can get yourself into perpetual stretch

Agreed on the smaller indica or hybrids. A lot of the time these guys don't need much as a good structure from good genetics means you don't have to get to brutal with the girl!
Hello! During what times do you suggest to defoliate?

I usually have day 28 and day 58 as my planned days but this can vary and sometimes I need to do a 3rd round.
