I was thinking about using these to recycle my old FFOF from previous grows (which I have a TON of). I want to get into water/tea only grows but sometimes the recipes are a little overwhelming and it seems like a HUGE grocery list to track down.

I have a bag of the dry-bloom (this is older and I think they've changed the recipe slightly since). it is 5-10-5 with 1% calcium. The ingredients list boasts volcanic rock dust, Meat and Bone meal, Composted poultry manure, blood meal and bone meal and there are a couple others I cant make out because they put the price tag over part of the ingredient list :dunno:

If I were to use a combination of these products and let them cook for a month or two would I essentially have a true organic soil? I was thinking about getting a bag of each and going slightly light on the suggested amounts.

Thanks for any and all help

Seems like it would work ok but make sure to follow directions or give then a call if you need help.

Will do, I'll be getting some of this stuff cooking here in the next couple weeks. I've got some photo plants in the new tent now that need another 9 weeks to finish (or so) then I will be trying a mixture out on some Russian Rocket Fuel auto seeds I got. Will also be my first attempt at a seed run if I get males and females. That grow will be.... either awesome or awful lol

I used Age Old up until I started the Mills. It worked quite well. However even with the Age Old you need other finishers, sweeteners and additives. I had trouble burning my plants. I wouldn't turn back from the Mills now. I am really impressed with the ease and effectiveness the Mills gives.

On another note Dinafem suggests in the XXL series to use 30% Coco with the soil and to water frequently with smaller amounts. What I do is 50/50 FF Happy Frog and Botanicare Moisture Formula Coco. If you wanted to use up your soil, that is what I would do. The Mills is spendy to start, but usage rate is very low. Mills is the bees knees man and you can use the soil you already have.

Never heard of Mills but I'll have to look into it, I do have some coco around here somewhere. I've mixed that in with FFOF quite a few times with good success using Age Olds liquid nutes.

I have used age old and I'm not impressed with it. It'll get the job done, but it's nothing compared to biobizz.

Are we talking dry nutes or liquid? I'm trying to get away from bottled nutrients altogether if possible and just do water only soil and compost teas....

Age Old liquid nutes treated me really well but I had to really push the limits and ended up using quite a bit more than the recommended amount. It became expensive!

Bottled. Also something that should be brought up, age old is NOT organic.

There is only one organic way to get away from bottle nutes and that's mixing a true living organic soil. Don't use shortcuts and substitutes, just follow one of the proven recipes in the organics section.

Yeah, been reading up on it even more. Got the TLO book on the Kindle. Looks like I'm going to spend the next few weeks hunting down amendments....
