Hello everyone,
as above, anyone use the Cloudray S6 oscillating fan?
I have just read the instructions and they recommend to only run the fan for 18 hours a day to let the motor cool down.

Does anyone run one for 24 hours?
Surely the fan needs to be running for 24 hours ideally.

What does everyone else do?
I don't want to break the fan, but, I also need constant airflow.

What to do?

I have both the S6 and A6. The plan is to run the S6 while the lights are on(18 hrs) and the A6 continually. The A6 does not have that "recommendation", I am assuming the cool down time has to do with the oscillating feature as everything else is the same between them. BUT I am also going to assume that the " recommendation" is also at 100% max power. THESE are powerful, I wouldn't run them at full in the tent, the plants would think it was a hurricane coming thru!!!! Give it a test, run it continually and from 18hrs thru 24-36 hours check the temp of the motor with a IR temp sensor/reader, I can't see a need to run it over say 50%.

I don't have the fan that you speak of .

Okay so the air NEEDS to flow across there when the LIGHTS ARE ON, that's has to be done.

The fan does not have to run 24 hours unless you have a humidity problem...

If you have a humidity problem I would definitely suggest that you have a fan running 24 hours a day.
Otherwise the fan does not need to run over top of those leaves and buds only but when the light is on, that is really the only time that the CO2 and oxygen needs to flow across those leaves and the plan is active picking up nutrients and putting off humidity.

I personally use tower fans in my inside grow.

You can see the fan that I use in the right hand upper corner the black cylinder.
It oscillates has three settings. And it's ran for 24 hours a day... I don't know like 3 years with only turning off if the power went out... I run 24 hours a day because I do have a PM problem in this area and cannot shake it. I've painted my whole entire basement walls ceiling floor with mold killing paint at $36 a gallon 13 gallons... :yoinks:
A tower fan doesn't take up very much space in a grow operation.
I've used as many as three in that small space in the corners, with one higher up one in the middle and one down low at the floor level. I've also hung them upside down and they work equally as well. At least the fans that I've used over the years. They may not be designed to hang upside down. But I've done it and they've worked well.

Anyways that's my two cents.

Happy growing:pass:

@Don't Fear the Reefer thnx for the :slap:

I am going to get the Controller69 in the future, that way I would run the S6 with a humidity trigger and the A6 with a temp trigger and the vent fans on both humidity and temp triggers 24-7. I think that should work out ok.

Throw the instructions away, run the fan 24/7 if you want to. It will probably actually last longer that way than turning it on and off every day.
I am running mine @ less than 50% at 24/7. When this thing stops oscillating I will still have a stationary fan.
My biggest concern with these things is cleaning. Thinking sum air pressure and Electronic cleaner in a spray can? I did not see this issue in the instruction manual. What say you Talonxracer ?

I don't think a electronic cleaner is needed, go to the hardware store and get some acid brushs(plumbing) and they fit between the front grate "fins" to loosen debris and then compressed air, compressed air might be enough on its own.
