Indoor Down on Muddy's farm

Thanks for stopping by. Glad I could be of service.

:pop::thread:

Hey man, Who ate all the popcorn, talk about showing up late. Very nice thread Muddy, and that single cola lady was amazing!! Subbed up and learning a ton along the way. Great read! +REP

My latest batch of plants are now 2 weeks old and looking good. 100% germination, only the Mango looks like it might be a runt. Gave them a 1/4 strength feeding on Monday and they are responding very well. As soon as I get another couple of nodes on the photos I'll top them the first time.

Bit the bullet and ordered a third Blackstar 240 the other day. Hoping it will be delivered today or tomorrow. It's going into the outdoor box, bringing it up to 3 BS 240s. While two did reasonable well, I know the third light is really going to kick it off. Just need to rearrange things a bit to make room for the new light.

Had an interesting discussion with Victor and Shawn at Gotham when I placed the order. Victor told me they have now sold over 2,000 BS 240s to growers like us. We discussed cal/mag deficiencies and the feedback he has gotten from his customers backs up what we have seen here. LEDs do seem to be more efficient at using nutrients and will exhaust the cal/mag, requiring some supplemental feeding. He also said he has growers getting up to 10% more yield by using Advanced Nutrients Revive. He recommended the use of Dutch Master Liquid Light and Saturator as a foliar feed. I did a little research into them and decided to order some to try. Should have them this week also. Also, if you order from Gotham, mention that you are a forum member and he'll throw you an additional discount. He also threw in a pair of ratcheting hangers at no cost. Can't say enough about their service.

What's the coverage with three 240s? or better yet what coverage would 4 240 do?

this one?

My box is about 3.75' x 3.75'. The BS 240s have a rated core penetration area of 2' x 3' but I found that compared to my GLH 240, the buds were a bit airier under the BS and the plants tended to stretch a bit too much, even when set fairly low. So I think adding the 3rd one should do the trick. I think 4 of them would cover a 5' x 5' area very well.

Yep, that's the one. I thought about adding a Chrome instead but it's coverage area doesn't really mesh well with the two others in that space. If I were starting from scratch I probably would go with the Chromes.

Owch that means I would need 8 for my small room...over a grand to switch from hps...and where 2000w hps...the led would be 1500w, so the power saving is small...

Actual draw on those is about 140 watts, so there is a significant difference. Plus when you add in the cost of replacement bulbs for the HPS, the LEDs do come out cheaper in the long run.

I didn't realise the AN Revive increased yield,reading my bottle it looks like a cureall-says revives sick and injured plants and can be used as part of nute regimen to boost plants immune system. Glad i bought it after reading this!
