Indoor Down on Muddy's farm

I'm sorry if i'm jackin your thread Muddy but here's what the Revive bottle say for those interested. revive can aid in correcting metallic mineral deficiences as well as most common nute defs,an will help to repair a crop from nute lockout. May be used in foliar, soil, hydro solutions. As a regular feeding program; to increase concentration of these essential elements in your solution use at 1 ml per liter 1 tsp per gallon. Repeat after 1 week if necessary. Hope that helps.

No problem. I read that on the AN site as well. I don't want to try too many new things at once, so opted to try the Dutch Masters at this time. UPS just dropped them off a few minutes ago. Right after lunch I'm going to mix up a batch and give them their first foliar feed. It's supposed to increase their photosynthesis. We'll see.

Well,i'm sure i'll be puttin it to the test as i always get one sick kid out of the bunch if not more,we'll see if this stuff really lives up to its name lol.

My box is about 3.75' x 3.75'. The BS 240s have a rated core penetration area of 2' x 3' but I found that compared to my GLH 240, the buds were a bit airier under the BS and the plants tended to stretch a bit too much, even when set fairly low. So I think adding the 3rd one should do the trick. I think 4 of them would cover a 5' x 5' area very well.

was it the price you got thr glh 240 being too high is the reason you decided to get more blackstar?

and couldn't find it but can you get removable lens which alter the angle of reflection to intensify beam to lower angle if one wishes
like more narrow in middle light surrounded by less angle for wider top canopy exposure?
for either of theese brands

GLH has had issues since they revamped their lights in 2011. They had problems with bleaching and had to modify their design a couple times. Since then I've seen the business for sale on eBay. That, plus the price, has put me off them.

I know the BS are fixed lenses. Not sure about the latest GLH but think they are fixed as well. BS uses a combo of 120 and 90 degree, where GLH used 90 and 60. I like the 90/60 combo better but the BS do work well, especially if you've got good reflectivity.

Owch that means I would need 8 for my small room...over a grand to switch from hps...and where 2000w hps...the led would be 1500w, so the power saving is small...

Actual draw on those is about 140 watts, so there is a significant difference. Plus when you add in the cost of replacement bulbs for the HPS, the LEDs do come out cheaper in the long run.

ok then 1120 watts, thats a 880w savings, and in three years I would need 2-3 sets of bulbs...$250 savings plus the 1 year savings on energy(maybe $600) thats around $850... which puts it in the grey area for me, are 8 -240s better than 2 1000w hps? performance wise?

Now when will it be when your first BS 240 is three years old? because thats the time I give these led's to stop producing enough light output to grow a plant...even if the leds are still working. Peeps are tossing out old leds of 2-3 years ago as they no long have enough usable light. Just like a HPS bulb there great the first 6 months then there performance drops from that point till burn out. I got a bunch of this led info from the hydro shop guy, who like leds but has doubts on longevity. So if the life of a led is 3 years... you have saved $2500. mostly in energy, but with that savings you could buy new lights every 3 years...

Hey Muddy , I got my BS ufo from there .......gotham was great service with the ordering .....I would order from them again my UFO was 2 days early from what scheduled delivery said.....U said to mention the forum here to get discounts ....is that for anyone or can we get direct email responce ....I wouldnt want to say anything wrong to jeprodize UR guys dedication to the site ......I have some time to save ...Was gonna do the HPS for now but i Will get another LED and the BS 240 or the 1 up from it ....since i have a HUGE tent ....4x4x6 is the exact measurements ......From what i read earlier I need LIKe 6 in there or 1 very high powered ....I can supplement lights from the FLOs i have right and just use maybe 2 BS240s ....Gonna be doing better grows from here on out hopefully ......

Gonna give the ProMix BS i beleive is what u use .....I want to do the JustRight Xtra along side the Promix and see the difference .....I am also looking at 400w Hps I can get 3 compared to a 500w BS..I think its 500w but not 100% clear

hope the new ladies treat u well

I never grew with a 1000 watter, only 400 and 600. I do get bigger, tighter buds from the LEDs than I got with HPS. Makes sense when you consider that HPS light is only about 15% usable to the plants compared to 95%+ for the LEDs. My GLH LED is about 2 years old now and showing no signs of any performance loss. The BS are just over a year old. Longevity is the big unknown with LEDs. Yes, they say 50,000 hours, which is 6.8 years at 20 hours a day but I'm not expecting that. I'm think more on the lines of 4-5 years from them. For me LEDs were a no brainer. Couldn't control the heat well enough with the HPS in my small spaces.
