Things have been getting better too. In my state the SJC ruled that the smell of unburnt cannabis is not sufficient cause for search. This is to be combined with the current ruling that the smell of burnt cannabis is not sufficient. So they cannot search me or my car or residence based on smell alone. Hopefully there are similarly enlightened statutes or what have you where you are.

At least a week bro. Been reading about how they obtain a warrent today and found this interesting....



Some places like larger cities have judges and magistrates that work nights or shifts so it is just a quick phone call and the warrant is signed. The police do not need the warrant in hand, they only need that it has been issued, so they can act upon it.

Now smaller towns or rural areas this will not be the case and depending on the need it may take more time to find the magistrate or judge to get the warrant issued.

Also there are exigent circumstances where no warrant is needed. This is an emergency situation like they were in pursuit of a suspect that ran into your home, or they saw you walking in with a bag full of dope, and had to act before you could destroy the evidence, or maybe your wife yelled that you were abusing her so they would come in to protect her.

There are many reasons, and none of them need proof only probable cause to issue a warrant. Mere suspicion is not cause for a warrant to be issued.

The search is as thorough as the warrant describes it to be. Say they are looking for drugs then the search would be very thorough since you can hide drugs in such small places and varied locations. If the search is for as another answer stated something large like a wide screen TV then the search would not include inside your underwear drawer. The warrant must also state the places to be searched if it states the home listed at 1234 main street a shed that was behind the house and not in the curtilage of the home then that would not be an authorized location to search.

I like the bit that says mere suspicion is not cause for a warrant to be issued and that they would need another warrant to search the shed next door.
One issue I have is the OG drying in a damp shed....bit worried it will rot but hay what can you do.

Just think how costly a raid is to the police, all the man hours, planning, execution, reports, obtaining the warrant. Why would they go to all that trouble because one officer thought he smelled some cannabis. I do however think you have done the right thing being super careful, this ain't no game to be taking risks. At least your not dry with the 30zipz you have, being dry under these circumstances would not be good.

You got to make the decision wether they smelt it or your para.
I wouldn't want to say either way but....

Careful is best, I've had cops next door, 4' away from my greenhouse, knocking-on giving info about break-ins etc. I never felt the need to pack down my tent or cull my greenhouse plant, but if I had suspected they "could" have smelt something I would have. Def did the right thing packing down imo, better safe than sorry, even though I believe they would not raid a house purely on smelling some pot.

it looked ok when I checked today so maybe a few more days won't hurt. I have a great big air tight box so could put it in there a with a load of dry rice and see if that's lower RH...infact that's what I will do tomorrow.
