New Grower feeding amount

Maybe te people in the journals you're reading only water in small amounts, not over saturating, so their soil dries out more quickly.

I read what Namvet put up and my problem may be to much feeding. I've been feed and feed then water. i'm only supposed to feed every other watering??

right i see, so atm im probably doing alright, and since im using cfls its not gonna be as efficent as say an led so it will prob not take up as much water etc

it depends what the plant needs... seriously...

some guys have it tuned... and know what to feed a plant and whenit can take it... you can try it... and you may be fine... but if you overdue it you brn them... it also depends on many other factors:
temperature (growth rate)
humidity(transpiration rate)
lighting (photosynthetic rate and consequently growth rate / nutrient demand, water demand, transpiration rate etc)

so you see why it depends?

ok cool thanks
i kinda knew this already
but guys on here feeding every 2-3 days how is that possible
mine after a feed in bloom still take abouts 5 days to get that dry

I could write a whole page about this but I don't have time right now. Basically feed light with every water on soil that dries out fast and feed heavier at every other water on soil that stays moist longer.

no i know it varys from plant to plant and what age its at
but im trying to see where i might be going wrong
we know we need a new light
but is it as simple as we have not been feeding the right amount
that why i created this page

In my expereince the main contributing factor to the "bigness" of these monster grows has a lot less to do with feeding schedules than it does with the amount of light you have. There are literally 20 or more variables that can contribute to yeild and plant size, but the main factors are going to be Light, PH correctness and feeding the correct nutes. Not nessicarly how often you feed them. In my opinion you would not see any noticeable difference if you did everything else the same just fed once a week or twice.

The "reason" folks get giant plants and great looking buds is because they did everything right(or most things) not one thing or the other it is a combination of all the variables and getting them right.

If you have concerns about when how and what to feed read this, it is Tangs foolproof feeding guide that will answer most questions, and he has some of the biggest soil plants on AFN(note that he also has everything else almost perfect)

Hope this helps

yeh i checked tangs but could see feed amounts, that why i was like wtf every 2-3 days
but yeh other things come in to im getting that now so considering were using cfls prob not getting as good light so not photosysing that well so prob not drinking as much water maybe

That's because some growers feed a specific amount per day, and don't water/feed to soak the soil, they just feed a liter (or the appropriate amount for the plant's size/growth) every day or two. TaNg has well ldocumented his feed schedule, and instead of watering deeply, he feeds/waters smaller amounts, either daily or close to it.
Other growers will figure out what the nute amount should be for the week, then split it into a couple feedings a week.
Still others will feed the whole week's nute amount in one watering, then just pH'd water the next.
For me, as my plants grow, the time between feeding and watering gets shorter- they're using more nutes and water as they grow-So, I need to adjust how often and how much they receive.
No doubt, feeding on a schedule like TaNg's will reap big plants, and legendary yields. That said, it isn't just the schedule. Nam is right- its a pretty complex combination of things that come into play.

yes yes... cfl's arent nearly as powerful as most of the led sleds you see on here or HPS or MH or any other HID light. If you wanna boost yields... invest in more lighting firepower... and be ready to cool for it as well. :smokeit:

right ok
so to wrap this up for me
you can feed every 2-3 day but it prob wouldnt be a litre unless it was a beast
and even if i was to up the amount i feed i could run the risk of nute burn or rotten roots etc
should think about upgrading my light and see how that goes ?

ahhh this diagram
anyway alright were be upgrading light asap
can you check our autofrisian thread and leave some feed back please
