I was talking to this dude that works for Fox Farms the other day and he said using the Bushdoctor Sledgehammer 2 or 3 days prior to harvest allows you to feed up until that point. He said you can feed all the way until you flush with sledgehammer right before harvest. No need to flush for 2 weeks prior to harvest with plain water. He said this will allow buds to get bigger because there will be no nute deficiency.
I don't suppose there was any reason for him to lie to me. I called him for something not related to the subject. Just thought I would pass it along. Its worth a try. At least on a plant or two.

Makes sense, sledgehammer is a rinsing agent designed to flush out fertilizer salts I guess it would be the same as Final Phase or FloraKleen... I dont see how using it will feed your plants since its just a rinsing agent??

You will hear a lot of differing opinions on flushing and length of time... Maybe three days is all that is needed??? Though from personal experience the plants I have flushed longer always were smoother of a smoke than the ones that were not flushed as long...
One thing AN did tell me about final flush is it actually makes the soil as such that the plant will no longer uptake nutes... So he said not to use during the duration of the grow (the time before veg and flowering on the old an feeding chart said to flush with final flush than) he said scrap that just use plain water at that point and at the end use the final flush... Now I've used final flush in between before and had def during flowering... Never noticed that while using sledge hammer... You work so hard and wait so long to grow out our ladies give them that full week ;) your lungs and taste will thank you.

I am not sure I understand what you are saying there Yoda, but rock on. If I could continue to feed my plants until three days prior to harvest, that would allow the buds to pack on additional size. I have a couple of finicky Candy Kush plants on my hands right now and I did order some sledgehammer to clean them out. I will try an experiment when its time to harvest a plant or two.

Sorry I misunderstood the first post

I doubt your going to see a difference in yield from this, when you flush plants you are forcing the plant to start using nutrients stored in its leaves, the plant is still eating nutrients for this process. They know they are about to die and use everything they have stored for bud production. This process is good and makes your bud taste, burn and smell better. It makes no sense to give a flushing agent while you are feeding nutrients.

sledgehammer is just mostly yucca plant extract it strips ur roots of buildup.you can use anytime you nute burn or get discoloration, personally I use it when switching from veg nutes to bloom.if I normaly water with 1 gal then I use 2 gal w/4 tsp.im telling you that shit works wonders,i have switched from ff to advanced nutes but I still order and use sledgehammer with no soil lockout problems

It sounds like an enzyme soil conditioner I had used in the past called "Neye-tron" (not promoting anything here, thus the purposeful misspelling). The stuff would actually bust open time release ferts (in the houseplants) and burn 'em. It would also wreak havoc with some of the pricey chelated organic nutes I used, also.

I later found that using a drop or a few of organic dishwashing/veg wash detergent "opened up" the soil exactly the same way... and it was way cheaper.
