hey guys the last couple grows I used ffof. my store didn't have it and I also wanted to try something different. my questions are is it a hot soil. ive not had any problems with the ffof just the roots was cheaper for more. will still be using my gh flora series nutes, but I got some 5 gal smart pots. how do these work, are they better than normal. please as always the advice is welcomed and to all the guys that have helped me through the first two grows thank you. also will the smart pot allow my plants to get bigger and fuller.:peace:

FFOF is considered a hotter mix and causes nute burn on small seedlings.Roots Organic is very good choice also.Always add about 30 % perlite to your mix for better drainage.

Ok that's great have you used the smart pots I am wondering if they work better

Hi flynfish, I started using airpots a couple grows ago, and while I'm still dialing in the watering/feeding frequency (not to mention the slow watering that is needed), I think they are better for the plants. I've only had 2 occasions to check roots after chop, but I noticed a much better root spread and (at least to me) more tap/big roots with more offshoots, too. I just bought some 5 gal fabric bags to try on my nest photo run. I've heard good things about them, and figured it was time to check them out.
Best to you!

those are the ones I got, the 5gal fabric ones hope it helps my plants get bigger and hopefully better results

yeah and they are reusable. just rinse let dry repeat, now if I could get the smell under control im ok. I had company over and first thing was. it smells like weed in here. lets just say I freaked out inside. I got window ope temps are in the 70s scrubber is brand new wtf? anyone use ona gel or a homemade version of it ive even got a box on the end with dryer sheets in it still no good. any advice on that

I'm grateful that I'm legal, because EVERYONE who enters Waxiville is hit with mega-canna-whiff!! lolol
I have 3 filter systems, and maintain them, but it's just too much.... I have an Ona gel jar, but its dedicated to our 8 foot Boa Constrictor.... He shites like a Mastif!!! Blech...... lololol

I've been using fabric pots for about 4 and a half lol grows now, and am happy with them, but they do require some learning and practice. The water wants to just run right out the side, but three things can help: using a water wetter like a drop of cheap dish soap or Wet Betty, making a bowl with the soil so the edges have higher sides so the water stays in the middle somewhat, and watering slowwwwwly and even taking a moment to let a little soak in then watering more. :)

Same here! I just water slowly and let it soak in before giving more. Too quick = Leakage!

Peace
