So I decided to give autos a try since I have some limited space, I may be gone for over a day or so for work, and the strains are getting wild. I got some NL autos from Vision (herbies seed bank). I popped them straight into the soil when the arrived and about 4 days later I had the first sign of the cotyledons pushing through. Pretty damn fast if you ask me. I wasn't going to document it but it may be nostalgic in a way someday.

The beans were popped in the soil (pre-germ) 1-14. FFOF with 2:1 Verm. I have about 50w CFL on her now with a 7w LED for 24 hours currently. Im not sure when I will (if ever) switch from this light schedule. Don't plan on using any nutes til she stops growing since FFOF should work til that point. I welcome all advice and constructive criticism.
This is what I have got so far. Thanks for checking her out and being a part of this unique and memorable experience. Cheers. :tiphat:

At home depot they have a 50w hps for around 40$, I have used this 50w hps(remotely wired) combined with a few cfls and a uvb reptile cfl. That was my first grow in a 1x2x3 cab with one plant, lstd and yielded like 2 oz.

I like your start, keep up the good work!!

Ps if I may ask, why did u ammend the ffof with vermiculite instead of perlite?

Thanks for the tip for an HPS at Home Depot. I am definitely going to pick that up.

Good question. The reason I used vermiculite instead of per-lite is because it was unavailable in every Wal-Mart, Lowes, Home Depot, or Ace Hardware stores so I supplemented. I read that it is a decent substitution for it keeps the soil light and somewhat fluffy. I plan on doing per-lite when it is available to me in the summer, with vermiculite as well. Any reservations regarding vermiculite; bad experiences etc.?

Vermiculite is usually used for water retention and perlite is used for aeration.

There's a growing method called hempy buckets, where you fill a container with 50/50 Verm/perlite and the only hole in the container is on the side about an inch or two above the bottom creating a reservoir. Hydro nutes are generally used with similar results to hydro. I'm not very good with hempys but I've seen great success with small containers .

Just got back from a work trip and boy is she growing! Here is a little update.
