Indoor First Grow 2x4 Tent 600 W HPS

those temps should be fine, as long as you stay below 90F, I had a few moments during the 5th week with serious heat issues, luckily i was able to sort it, I'm def gonna try scrogging, not sure about scrogging auto's tho, I'd rather veg em to fill the space and max out as much as possible,no doubt you'll be fine, you seem to have the head for it:tiphat:

Thanks for the info. When would the best time be to switch from the t12's to the hps?

I had a MH bulb but it was broke during delivery. Still trying to work it out with amazon so I'm down to t12's and a hps. Also what do you recommend as a light schedule? I was thinking of 24/0 for the first 1 to 2 weeks under the t12's. Then switching to the HPS running it 18/6. Then the final week I'm on the fence on either staying 18/6 or going 12/12.

Update Day 5:

All 6 Auto seeds have now sprouted. I have to say they look much healthier and brighter green then my bagseed sprouts were. Not sure if this is genetics or the method I sprouted them. Pretty sure I'm either giving away or throwing out the 4 bagseed sprouts in the next week.

One thing I haven't figured out yet is harvest timing. I'm running 4 different Auto strands including:

3 x Auto Berry Ryder - "ready in as little as 60 days"
1 to 2ft

1 x Blue Cheese - "...and with only 10 weeks of flowering is ready to be cut"
Easily reach 4ft

1 x Critical Jack - "...the only one capable of flowering in 70 days"
2 to 3 ft

1 x Mazar - 10 weeks
2 to 3ft

I realize that harvest time and size can vary by plant but I'm trying to get some idea of how I'm going to do this. My main issue is drying. My plan was to convert my grow tent into a drying tent seems how ill have a carbon filter hooked up by then to keep order and humidity down. I don't think these are all going to miraculously done at the same time though. What was I thinking? Guess I just saw all the flavored and couldn't resist lol. I've seen some DIY dry boxes. One that got my attention was a plastic tub with carbon filter exhaust but a lot of people are saying these dry too fast and just letting it hang dry is best. Any opinions on my dilemma? Also how much of the height can I control by switching to flower nutes sooner? Originally I thought the Mazar was going to be the tall one but from the info I've found it looks like the blue cheese will be the tallest.

Thanks for everyone who's following. I appreciate any advice you guys can give.

as soon as you see pistols switch, they usually sprout out by the 3rd or 4th week, to be honest I used my hps from day 1 so i wouldn't be able to give u a definite answer, I had my light on 20/4 for when they were vegging to give em that extra lift when they were growing and as soon as i had pistols on all 5 i dropped it to 18/6, but if needs be you can run 20/4, 20/4 seems good in theory but the plants need time to do their thing in the dark, I can't see it damaging the plant having it at 24/0 but think about it, would you want to be kept awake for 24 hours a day??? I wouldn't personally go lower than 18/6 for flowering but if electricity costs is an issue then that's understandable, i read somewhere that if you drop it down to 16/8 in the last 4 weeks it won't affect your yield (you may want a 2nd opinion tho), again I can see how this works as you're mimicing the shortening of days towards harvest time. Hope that helped

there's nothing you can do about how long they'll take, that's for nature to decide, it is nice to be able to hack em all down at once but it is also nice to have multiple strains going at once, I guess there's pro's and cons with every method, as for using your tent, that's 100% A-ok, I used mine for my last grow and have seen other people doing the same, as you mentioned it is great using your carbon filter and ex. fan as it keeps air moving for the drying process and makes for a better dry, also it's good coz you get to keep your fans moving air under the buds, it's never a good idea to have it blowing directly on the buds coz it affects how they dry, not sure how but all i know is that it does more harm than good :) looking forward to some photo's soon :smokebuds:

Thanks for the reply. I've read tons and tons of info everywhere. I've read people using pretty much every light schedule you can't think of for Autos besides GLR.

One guy I've found online is DrAutoFlower. He has tons of great videos on YouTube. Him and a group of growers performed a ton of different tests on Autos using different light types and schedules. They basically concluded that running t12's would be just as effective as running a MH during veg. Not sure if I quite believe that tho lol. They also concluded that 24/0 light schedule would produce the most growth but not much more than 20/4 or 18/6 so most people will go 18/6 for energy savings. I completely understand what your saying about having time to rest though. It seems like the more info I read the more confusing it gets because I've also read research that contradicts DrAutoFlower as well lol.

Here's what I'm thinking of doing. I'm thinking of running my t12's for the first 2 weeks 24/0. Then switching to HPS 18/6 and staying on that schedule all the way until harvest. I've considered using the T12's as side lighting but not sure if its make much of a difference not to mention due to my size limitations I don't want to encourage too much beg growth lol.

Even when your running the exact same strand I know the harvest time can vary and you have to look at the trichs. When you harvested all your plants and dried them in your tent at once were they all ready for harvest or did you take some earlier or later in order to do it all in one shot? That's what I'm considering if I have to. Is it possible to dry plants in the tent when the light is still running for the others? I don't believe so cuz I know you should dry in the dark but as long as the humidity is low would it still work? Otherwise if not I think drying in my tent will be out of the question. Know any ideas of drying outside the tent controlling odor but on a tight budget?

Thanks again for all the great info fakula. I'm really loving the AFN site. I have this journal running on another site and no one there has been nearly as helpful as you guys here.

Just got done checking on them during my lunch. Decided to remove the Saran Wrap because some of the sprouts were already touching it. Not sure how long your supposed to keep it on lol. In order to keep humidity up ill be spraying them several times per day with tap water. Haven't done any water yet besides spraying several times per day. Here's the pics:

Auto Berry Ryder - This one germinated and was starting to sprout. I kind of peaked because I was getting impatient lol. I covered it back up with a little bit of loose soil. Hopefully should see it in the next day or so. As long as this one comes through that's 100% germination! :)
