A gene s a gene is a gene.....Thats alot of work to breed it out?

That's exactly my point. This isn't a hermie gene. The reputable seed banks I purchased them through were already supposed to breed out the hermaphrodite gene. That's means this can only be a result of poor growing. Which should mean that future seeds wouldn't inherit a hermaphrodite gene they would have nearly the same chance as the mother. Or at least that's what I'm hoping.

I think the info you are finding regarding using herm genetics is simply just outdated. It doesn't matter how the plant Hermed. If it changes sex without the use of cs or sts it has the herm genetics and will most likely pass it on.
Cs and sts actually stop the plant from producing female hormones so in response is grows male parts but has no male chromosome therefore cannot create male seeds or hermi offspring. Using a stressed female that grew male flowers is quite different because it obviously has the male/herm genetics so it will pass them on.

That being said, if you do still grow them just keep a close eye on them and you will see we are correct. If you don't mind seedy buds then do what you do bro. :thumbs:

Thanks again for all your feedback. I want to rap up this argument about the hermie seeds and get back to the grow. I will let do a few experiments in the future and report my findings.

I do want to provide just a few of the links where I'm finding my information so you guys don't think I'm coming up with this theory on my own.

ok the first link is almost 4 years old and i believe a reprint/copy of a much older article , has some bad info , but has some good , such as "hermaphroditism is considered an unwanted trait in drug strain cannabis plants. The trait is dominant in its expression, which means that any parent carrying this trait will pass it on to its offspring."

the second link is almost 3 years old and tells you straight out hermies are bad and modern fems arent made useing hermies

the 3rd link is ,,,, well dumb (sorry but it is) in it there is info stating "only females hermie" which is completely FALSE ! why have well known breeders such as dj short , shantibaba and many others including myself discussed useing male hermies to breed with ?

Ok first of all isn't this my journal? Am I not allowed to post any information I wish? Just because you don't agree with these theories doesn't mean I don't have a right to discuss them on my journal. Up until this point I have been very tolerant of your negative comments and personal attacks but honestly if this offends you stay off my journal.

The information I posted was only a few of tons of articles I've found discussing this. Now I am convinced more than ever that I need to grow these seeds just so I can prove people like you wrong.

This is a cannabis growing website. We are all supposed to be friendly and positive towards one another. I welcome any intellectual discussion. I am a very open minded person and I consider all possibilities. I honestly feel really let down right now. I never expected this type of animosity or personal insults on this forum especially from such respected members.

Either way no hard feelings. I'm done discussing this subject and I just want to get back to my grow journal. And for anyone who's interested I will document and report my findings from this experiment.
