Indoor First Grow 2x4 Tent 600 W HPS

That is a really good idea, I will have to see if I can make the space to set that up. My northern lights smell like candy so if I dont have to water cure them that would be nice, although I'm not sure if my pallet is refined enough to pick up on the flavors haha. 35% in flower is perfect, that's what I try to keep mine at. Last run it was 60% before I could afford a dehumidifier so even though I haven't experienced it, the fear of mold is permanently engrained in my psyche. And as far as laziness goes, there's a bill hicks quote I love. "They lie about marijuana. Tell you pot-smoking makes you unmotivated. Lie! When you're high, you can do everything you normally do, just as well. You just realize that it's not worth the ****ing effort. There is a difference.” So true haha

I'm testing just putting them on dry lines in the same room as my tent now. The negative pressure from the fan/filter seems to be strong enough to filter the whole room. I'll know for sure tonight cuz if anything would stink up the house it's this Blue OG lol.

Love the quote! :)

Good looking haul brother. I envy your strain selection! After this monocrop run I will definitely try some new stuff out.

Have you encountered any particularly unique smoke, yet? I saw you were growing Thai, and I know back in the day that was a particularly psychoactive strain. Im on the hunt for heart thumping, teeth grinding sativa that has aliens whispering in your ears and wolves ticketing your feet. I know I will have to venture I to the world of photoperiods for such a thing lol

Thanks! I still find myself researching and shopping for new strains lol. For me it's like beer. I LOVE all different kinds of microbrewed beer. I usually get the mix 'n match 6 pack. It's the same with weed. I could smoke 10 strains a day :)

Plus I feel like I'm learning a lot faster. I know I could do better by focusing on mastering a few strains but I've found I can still produce top shelf meds even juggling all the different strains. My yields probably take a slight but it's worth it IMO.

I'm afraid I'm going back to Ph'ng my feed. I shouldn't need to in soil but my Dinachem is struggling and my blue Thai is starting to show unhealthy spotting on leaves as well. My guess is that I'm underfeeding them but I can't be sure because I'm not able to eliminate ph as a culprit. This wouldn't be a problem if I had faith in my nutes/soil but I don't so I order Earth Juice ph up crystals. I'm hoping this will be better then the GH ph up solution I used before.

My favorite a has been the blue og but I still have a lot to try. The best smelling plant hands down is the blue Thai. It smells like a sour tart. Really hard to explain but it def blows the rest away.

The Wild Thai from Landrace Seeds is insane. I grew 5' plus plants in 5 gal buckets back in the day but I've never seen anything like this Thai. It's like a wild animal. Nothing slows it down and it's super healthy. I'm actually a little concerned about having enough space and my tent is 7' tall lol. I won't be able to try it for over 2 months yet but based on my research I know I won't be disappointed. It's supposed to be super potent.

It'll be interesting to compare this to my blue Thai and lemon Thai Kush. Maybe a future breeding project? Right now these two strains are heavily indica. Thinking adding a little more Thai back into the genetics would be interesting. Not gonna be trying any breeding for a long time but just an idea lol.

Once you go photo you'll never turn back. Autos are space fillers for me now.

Ultra Sour Harvest!

I decided to harvest my Ultra Sour last night. The test branches have been excellent and I need more space. As you can see by the pics we already harvested quite a few "test" branches already lol.

This strain is skunky, spicy, and woodsy. Almost 180 degrees difference from the blue OG which is really fruity. Very potent and already tasting amazing after just a quick hang dry. Really looking forward to the cured buds. What I really like about this strain is the buds are huge balls no pun intended lmao. I'm hoping for 1-1/2 to 2oz of dried product.

I decided to leave a few popcorn buds on the bottom just to see if they do anything lol. I also included a pic of the flower tent. If you look closely you should see the monster wild Thai and agent o in 5 gal buckets in the back :)

Here's a few pics before and after:

Gorgeous.

I like the micro brew comparison, I am the same way. Rarely get the same six pack twice! Variety is the spice of life for sure.

For now I'm sticking with the critical jack because it is perfect for helping me keep my head right. I can smoke it from dusk to dawn and function better than I can without it. Im hoping to pull a few really solid harvests while I hone my skills. I want to have a nice supply built up so I can start to experiment with some other strains. I have been looking at some classic strains on the auction seed sites. Veryyy tempting, despite my love for the autos haha

I had a question for you regarding ambient / peripheral /indirect light from the 600w. My main tent has a big rectangular hood, but my other tent I have that same cooltube as you. Do to the architecture of the space that tent is located, the light is not centered in the tent. So the right side gets significantly less direct light. Have you had any plants tucked away in a nook of your tent, or undersized to where they get inadequate light? I'm trying to calculate the best way to use my space effectively, and wondering if you have anything you've noticed on the subject.

I was going to keep my personal questions to PM but I know you like bouncing ideas and maybe a follower can learn something as well haha

I loved my critical jack. It was hands down my best auto. Still have a small bud stashed of it lol.

Not quite sure about your light question. I basically keep my larger/oldest plants closest to the light and smaller plants further away with the theory that the plants need more light as they get bigger. I do this because I've heard the cool tube's are really bad for reflecting light. They're great for cooling the light but I've heard they create hot spots and varying light levels across the grow area. Personally I've been wanting to purchase a light meter and laser thermometer. You can get both on amazon for about $10. Then you could measure your light levels and stage your plants appropriately.

Otherwise if all else fails I've ran a grow before where all the flowering plants were directly under t12's. Then I have a 400watt hps in the center. Each day I would rotate plants underneath the hps. You could also elevate the plants higher that are further away.

I'm considering an 8 bulb t5 fixture for my other section 4x4 of my 4x8. I'd put my girls under the t5's for the first 4 weeks of flower then move them under the 600watt for the final 4 weeks. Not for sure though because the price is close to another HPS and I already have it ready to install another cooltube. I've also though about running an LED lol.

LED just might be the way to go. I used them as supplemental lighting in my first run, and there was a noticeable increase in resin and size in the plants that got the additional light. I have a couple Chinese 135w UFOs. I have trouble justifying the huge expense on "Domestic" brands which are manufactured from Chinese parts lol.

I have a few refugee plants that I pulled out from the main canopy. Perhaps I will throw it under on of my unused LED for flowering and then I can directly compare the results to the ones under HPS and MH. I'll keep you posted, I feel like they will do just fine.

very nice bro +rep
looks great

LEDs are def somewhere in my future but think I'm leaning towards another cooltube for now. Don't wanna rock the boat too much ya know? Lol I completely agree on Chinese from domestic. Hell my wife's asian I have no problem with imports :)

I don't think it's necessarily a question of one being better than the other. I think it's situational where sometimes led would be better for the setup and sometimes HID. Or at least that's what the dozens of comparison I watched seemed like lol

I should have a big update as soon as I sit at my laptop to upload pics. Have gotten a lot of flak from other forums on how I'm posting pics. Seems how I do one post for all my forums it's really making updates a PITA.

On a side note I recently got my mom to start smoking. She hadn't smoked weed in probably 10 plus years. She recently almost became a ward of the state in a nursing home due to her bi polar disability. She was previously a drug addict according to the state but really she was treating her own depression, anxiety, and bi polar. She has a tough time taking meds correctly. She forgets everything due to hundreds of ECT treatments. Were hoping to convert her from RX to strictly cannabis but our state is a long ways behind. It was amazing to hear and see her results. She has very bad tremors where her hands shake so bad she can hardly write. After taking just a few hits her hands almost completely stopped shaking. She also has trouble sleeping and said she was able to sleep much better as well.

Unfortunately that means more hard work for me. Really gotta get this second light soon and hoping to sell my 2x4 and upgrade to a 4x4 for veg. Already gotta buyer just gotta come up with the cash and I have tons of other stuff I need first. The grow list never ends lol. Thank god I love doing this because it's really turned into a part time job now :)
