New Grower First Grow - Dutch Passion seeds and GN MS0006

Hey all, back again at the start of week five from seed.

Here's an update- sorry for the blurryness, I couldn't find my other lenses and couldn't get far enough back without taking them out the room properly... which I don't want to do cause they're started to give off a pretty decent scent - nothing too extreme though.

Both are currently on an EC of between .6 and .8 on my truncheon, hit the hempy res so I'm only watering every few days now when the pots get light and I've started some LST on the main cola, though I might be too late for that? I was hesitant about it but decided to give it ago, gradually bringing them back and evening the canopy out where possible.

Both together in the tent. Starryder on the left, TD on the right:

Week 6 update!

Hey all!

So this would be the start of week 6 from starting seed. I've been tying them down with some LST, made some mistakes but overall seems to be forming the start of a nice canopy that hopefully all comes up together when stretch happens!

I've been bumping up the EC on the nutes every hempy refill, I think I'm at .8 just now and all in all conditions have been pretty ideal. Nothing to complain about!

Thanks again for looking, comments welcome!

I have a question for anyone looking. Is one ms006 sufficient for these two plants to finish well? I plan to get another 006 to do a bigger harvest after this one, but I'd prefer to just wait and see this one through.

Thoughts!

Thanks!

Hi Redler nice set up. Looks like you put a bit of thought into it.
It looks like you are off to a good start.
Knocking tobacco on the head is a great idea, I did and I couldn't be more happy, now it is just vaping for me, I now get through less weed but still get just as high.
I'm a LED grower myself and will be interested to see how the grow northern perform.
Good luck with your grow, I'll be sure to keep watching how it comes along.

Peace

Growerz

Update: vegging continues though I've hit a problem...but think it's resolved?

Thanks Growerz! I'm looking forward to seeing how it all comes together too.

I'm back to show off the last few days growth and training. I hit a problem in that I forgot a simple rule of hempys is to split your weeks feedings into doses rather than all at once. I ramped them up recently and realised it was causing damage! Flushed and have lowered their nutes and the problem seem to have sorted itself.

Here's a few examples of what I was getting, less vibrant discoloration than it was yesterday though:

Any thoughts on that? I've returned the feeding to around .6 EC, which I think is as much as the Starryder can handle right now. The TD wasn't as badly impacted by the nute boost which makes me think it might be time to start splitting off their doses soon as I understand TD is a hungrier beast!

So anyhow, here's a few more pics.

TD first this time!

She's doing well I think, spreading out across the pot nicely with bud sites - at least in my newbie opinion!

She's a bit lopsided, my own mistakes with training for the first time. I'm working to bring her back across the pot - which will hopefully be easier when she starts to get more vertical height and I'm worried less about tying them down and instead just trying to better distrabute the branches for light.

In other news I got my bookcases through that I ordered to create a small room partition in a spare room, with the excuse that my flat has no storage whatsoever and it's a spare room so I can do what I want! The place is rented but I've never been inspected - as long as rents paid on time it's all good.

I plan to add a roof onto the bookcasaes, which will be in an L shape against the corner, boxing it off, which should also help remove the general floaty smell of growing in that room from when the tents been opened. It's not bad, but I just hate to have that lingering - especially as I know it's only going to get stronger! So i've taken the week off work and sorting that room and getting it all done to put my mind at rest. I'll maybe snap a few pics of the finished partition / work area that'll be inside it once I'm done!

Anyhow, that's all for now. If anyone has any comments or hints about the burn problem I was facing it's much appreciated!

Thanks!

End of week six!

Ello again,

So this would be the end of week six from germination. I've stopped tying down the plants quite as much and releasing younger ties. My rusting problem seems to have sorted - I think it was caused by my PH being uncalibrated - I didn't realise it stopped so quickly. Got the buffer solutions and it's sorted again now though so hopefully that won't crop up again!

Anyhow, here's how they're looking and the newly formed flowering sites.

She's still lopsided but I'm not really sure what else to do until there's some more height. Should I just let her be now?

Week seven from popping, few problems I could use advice with!

Hey all, this would be the start of week 7 to popping.

I've moved the plants to flower nutes, but I think I made a mistake in teh later part of the grow by only half dosing each feeding of the hempy with veg nutes. I think that might have stunted some of their growth potential.

I also started to get some more aggressive discolouration on the leaves which you might see in the pics, I flushed them out in the bath today with PH 6 water (slightly up from the 5.8 what I was using to see if a flush an an elevated PH improve things any)

I also seperated the plants nute feedings so I could push up the TD ahead of the starryder as things progress.

So yeah, other than what I've said, any thoughts? Or advice on on any problems I might have I'm missing :)

I added on the tomato screens I had since the training I put on the plants kept them so even. I used the screens and gently applied them before switching to flower to help me distribute the buds as they grow up and gain access to some of the lower sites. The light is sitting right at the top of the screen stems, which is 12" from the lower tops with the taller stems around 10" currently.

Thanks for looking!

P.S. Pics are mixed because I was a bit baked when taking them and forgot which was which on the close ups!

post flush and upped nute feed

Hey all!

Couple more pics. The plants have responded well to the flush and the new leaves are looking healthy, maybe the slightest touch of nute burn but I ramped them both up to their recomended max EC. I'll watch out incase it gets any worse though!

Plenty of clear trichs appearing :)
