Indoor First grow with Airpots and LED lighting - 2x Think Different, 2x StarRyder, 2x AutoXtreme

'Lo friends!

I felt a disturbance in the force when I entered my grow room and saw this on one of my AutoXtreme's:

And then this on one of the TD's:

My best guess (and it's a guess) is that the AutoXtreme is suffering from calcium deficiency and the I'm not a good guesser but the Think Different might be from nitrogen deficiency??

I've been giving the girls (per 1L water) 1ml calmag 1ml BioBizz Fish-Mix 2ml Bloom (last feeding if you don't count yesterday when I upped the dosage to 2ml calmag 1ml fish-mix 3ml bloom).

The runoff PH was 6.2 last feed.

Here's a picture of some girls on girls action for all you pervs out there =)

I'm relying on your collective wisdom to guide me through this time of need:grat:

It's already been said but pH is where I'd start. Your run off sounds ok, but what is the pH of your solution going in? Then you can get a better idea. My opinion is that I can see red/purple stems and yellowing of bottome leaves. That is N def, which can be caused by a number of things, this does NOT look like Ca/Mg def. Seems a lot of people are always quick to shout "calmag", Ca/Mg looks similar but is different to N def.

MJ is like any other plant out there, if it's hungry (for whatever reason) it will start to yellow from the bottom up as it draws N from it's fan's to support growth.

Just my opinion,

Dazed..

Dazed why did you post twice lol?

Thanks guys! I'll keep up the same calmag amount then. I gave them 2ml And I got the ph meter back and it's 6.9 before and the runoff reads 6.2. Gonna spend some quality time with the ladies real soon to sort everything out. I'll be getting my new light real soon and vacation is over so I got more time now =)

Weird readings and advice wanted...

Just fed the girls and got some pretty strange/alarming/weird readings on the PHmeter...

The PH of my tap water is 8.4 and the PH of the feed solution is 6.5 which sounds OK to me. But the runoff this time was anywhere between 5.9 / 5.5 on the TDs, 4.4 / 4.9 on the Stars and 4.4 / 5.4 on the Xtremes.
That can't be good...

What to do??

I've stopped trusting the method of testing run-off....always gotten weird, outlier numbers. I trust my Accurate 8 Soil probe now....

It could be the case that you haven't watered to enough run-off and nutes are collecting in the bottom of the pot, that would drive pH down and perhaps
give a very low reading due to the concentration of acidifying soil at the bottom...

Ultimately, I would be wary of responding to the numbers in any way until you can verify them...don't want to compound the problem.

Maybe get some garden lime in there to slowly start bringing it up and water to a little more run-off...but you have to find a way to verify those numbers. IMHO :)

Is your medium completely saturated after feeding/watering?
I have seen big fluctuations in runoff occur when the medium is not fully saturated at feedings and waterings.
I agree with Trapper, ACCURATE 8 is a nice relatively inexpensive tool to use in this regard.
Don't do any adjustment quickly, just make sure your feed is a bit on the weak side and your ph is consistent until you can confirm your wild runoff readings.

Amen to that!! I still record the pH of the runoff, but don't let it bother me anymore, no matter what it is. As long as my solution going in is in the proper range, and so is my soil, I'm cool!

Thanks guys for calming me down ;) I have been watering 'til I get some runoff but I'm not sure how much since I haven't measured the runoff. I've read about the number 20% in a lot of places, where do you guys stand on that?

Well I'm calmer at least and I haven't seen that much of an issue with the girls so I'm gonna chill for the time being.

Seems like I should get one of those Accurate 8 Soil probe now though. Quick Robin, to the weedmobile!
