Just remember seedling only need to be watered about 1 time a week. They don't drink as much. A way I learned to know when it's time to water is, putting your whole finger in the soil . If it's dry then water if you feel moist soil on your finger, don't water

Okay my little guy is 5 days in from shedding his helmet and he isn't more than an inch tall my light is moved as far as possible but he doesn't seem to be growing, looks perky and green though.

Looks fine to me. A word on testing soil with a finger; check near the edge of the pot and be very careful not to damage the roots. That’s why I never go a full finger deep. If soil sticks to your finger, you could probably go another day or so.
