Hi guys,

Long time lurker first time poster. The information in this post is limited but we should be up and running in two weeks, which means everything is getting ordered in the next two to three days and seeds are already ordered.

This is the plan:
(All autos, all fem)
3x- Dinafem- White widow
3x- WOS- Afgan kush ryder
3x- Sweet seeds- Red Posion
3x- Dinafem- White cheese
3x- Dutch Passion- Blackberry kush

All will be lit up with the MARS II - 1200 watt LED panel- Three of them to be exact. They will be grown with low stress training (tie downs then scrog panel). The tent is a gorilla 4X8.

This will be a soil medium grow using 5 gallon bio fiber pots and foxfarms ocean forest (exact mix and nute plan schedule to be posted later).

We have oscilating fans for room circulation and a clean reverse osmosis water source for an ideal PH.

The last bit of gear I need to decide on is the intake/outtake air system. What fan size do I need for intake? I'm thinking a 6" carbon scrubber setup for the outtake.

Ambitious? Yes. Crazy? We'll see.

Can't wait to see pic of set up
I don't have much experience with indoor but I think a 4 in fan with a high cfm n a large filter and a fan or two inside well fine. But 15 candies under mars 1200 watt seems a bit much. These 1200's what do they put out exactly? Around 500 watts from wall? So maybe about 2000 total watts which could be enough in HID but well it be enough to penetrated canopy in flower? Anyways hope goes well I've liked so I can keep up :)

I have a feeling this is going to be fun to watch. mind if i sub up? oh sh#t... already have :Smoke no Evil:

Welcome to AFN 15 plants in a 4x8 is gonna be a jungle in there. lol

Thanks for the quick feedback and warm welcome to AFN, can't wait to get this project going.. or better yet growing ;).

The LED's chosen draw between 520-600 actual watts, so we are looking at 1560-1800 actual watts. The seller claims that these lights are equal to 650 watt traditional lamps. Do you guys really think I'm underpowering it with the 3 1200 watt panels? Would prefer not to due to budget but will throw a fourth one in there if we have to. At first I had considered the 1600 watt panels, two of them- but wanted more room for adjustment and more coverage.

I don't think light penetration should be a huge issue- will be scrogged and probably lollipopped so the only area really focused on should be the sea of colas. Makes me giddy already.

You dont need a intake fan. Passive intake is more than enough and will save you $$ on your electric bill.

I would go with a 6" fan/filter with a speed controller, and use passive intake(no fan). But what do I know? Good luck!

Update

So I think we've got this figured out. Instead of doing 3 1200 watt mars II lights, the tent will house 4 1200 watt lights. This puts us at 2080-2400 actual watts. I am planning on using a passive intake with a Vortex S- Line @347 CFM/matching carbon scrubber exhaust. I don't anticipate the LED's getting super hot and read you want to circulate the air every 3-5 minutes, this fan would more than do that.

Also making one additional change- I think I'm going to save white cheese for later and swap in some mephisto genetics- S.O.A.D, tooth decay and a tyrone special. This should add yield and quality to an already very promising lineup.

Will be ordering all the major stuff tonight/tomorrow. I have also decided to follow Tang's nute schedule and to just stick with plain forest farms soil mixed with peralite or black gold.

Final Plans

So since I posted this thread I have purchased pretty much all of my gear. Here's the setup-

Gorilla grow lite 4x8 tent (Passive intake)
4x- MARS II 1200 (520-600 actual watt w/5 watt LEDS).
Sunleaves 6" Fan at 409 CFM (outtake)
Can-light 6" Scrubber
2 turning fans inside tent
ONA Gel

7 different strains- White Widow, Afgan Kush Ryder, S.O.A.D, Red Posion, Tyrone special, Blackberry Kush, Cheese Candy, all housed in 15L Airpots (15 of them).

Soil Mix- Fox farms ocean forest (55-60%), Perilite (10%), Peat Moss (30-35%).

Advanced nutrients- Sensi grow/bloom, calmag, rhino skin, carboload, big bud, and possibly a few others.

This setup wasn't cheap but I am a firm believer of buying quality and doing things right. If things go as planned it will be a jungle, no idea on yield but 1 oz/plant would be a good first grow I think.

EAGERLY anticipating all of this gear showing up and will be doing a dry conditions test and post a photo as soon as things are here.

Sounds awesome! Im definately keeping an eye out for this grow"kudos"
