Hey all, i recently bought a 12quart bag of happy frog and i am very disappointed to tell you all that it came straight out of the bag with aphids crawling about it. I was foolish enough to move forward with my grow even though I saw them before getting started. Anyways, I just thought I would give you all a heads up that you might want to bake Happy Frog or just flat out not use it at all. I for one will probably throw out the remainder of this bag of soil and return to coco coir after this.

Anyways, I think i can salvage my grow because I have enough Azamax about to innoculate everything in my house. It is just a pain the ass that such a high end soil delivered such pestilence into my home.

Buyer beware!

That is some bad luck there Bud, I hope you can salvage all. :smokebuds:

Wow that sucks, I've never personally had any problems with any FF soil product, but will definitely keep my eyes open more to it! Thanks for the heads up

I think I am going to give them a few aza treatments and maybe try to find some pyrethrins and if i am still not satisfied, I am throwing my sprouts away containers and all. At which point I will break off a bit of my coco brick and get back to it, 10 days, then I am passing a death sentence.

what do you all think? should i proceed with treatments and wait 10 days or just nuke it from orbit right now and start over?

i am only 6 days post sprout right now

nuke em, problems suck @ the end but right off of the get go? cheaper as well as less stressfull to start over! ur yield will also be significantly less to. Plus who wants to smoke bugs, eggs, feces, dead bugs, etc...? That is not medicine my brother, that is in fact a HEALTH HAZARD.... Holler, Sticky Out..

Pyrethrins will kill on contact... azamax works over time and requires systematic administration for best results.

Personally, I wouldn't use the soil unless I had to, due to finances. I have had problems with several mixes over time... strangely FF has never been one of them. But, it does happen due to normal things that can happen during transport or while in storage. I buy cigars that are stored in sealed, humidity controlled warehouses. It doesn't happen often but I've found small infestations in some of the finest brands available.

Just bought me a bag of FFOF yesterday, I was going to open it when I get a answer about it. But I will check it out real close Thanks for the heads up brutha

it probably had to do with how it was stored at the point of sale. the stores climate seemed to be poorly controlled. after your very appreciated opinions it seems wisest to just start over and get some coco prepared. thanks guys

We don't pay enough attention to this sometimes... If it looks like they don't turn their inventory often, that's the kind of place I'm very careful with.
