Yeah I've never had prob's with FFOF being "too hot" with seedlings. I was convinced it was the problem with my grows, but the more I learn/research, the more I realize it's "me" not the medium. In fact, FFOF seems pretty darn ideal for indoor auto grows, especially if you don't have room for bags of additives and the space to mix all that stuff and store it etc..., My plants have always loved it, grow super fast, and I can just water them for 3 weeks usually, maybe one or two "Grow" feedings, then right into bloom nutes quite heavily.

My issues with it have been when the soil breaks down in 25-30 days and my ph goes whacky. I'm hoping the addition of some pulverized lime solves that for the most part and gets them through that critical transitional phase I've been struggling with. It's just easy stuff to grow with and comes in small bags for $9 where I live - can't beat it really, especially if you're a new grower. I'm not sure why people are so harsh on it, but I've found people on MJ forums tend to bash anything commercial or widely used as "over-priced junk" etc..., and I take that with a grain of salt. Not everyone can mix and set-up big grow rooms, or have the time to mess with experimenting etc...,

But I do agree that there are waaaay too many nutes and options out there that are unnecessary, and cost way too much.

Sorry bro but i don't agree, FFOF is my go to dirt and have used for years, never a problem....germing, seedlings, clones, transplants, etc.
Im not sure why you are having such bad luck... temp, ph, humidity, not enough air exchange/CO2, gnats chewing up your roots, salt buildup, etc... too many things that can go wrong but barring a bad batch, very doubtful its the FFOF.
Good luck to you from now on though dude.
Blessings,

I'm using Fox and so far I really like the turnout. I'm only on my 5th week, but they seem to be really healthy. I added some bat guava to it. My question is trimming? Are you supposed to trim it? Can you trim too much?
