New Grower Franks first grow in many years

Hey everyone!!

Welcome to my first journal, my first auto grow, first LED grow, first hydro grow.

I grew a few plants 5 years ago (soil) when I first got my medical card, but other than that have ZERO experience.

I'm using Tangs easy feed schedule, a mars II 1200, and some 5 gal DWC buckets.

I'm growing Fastbuds Blackberry, and Green Crack.

Feel free to chime in with any tips, etc.

Great start and just a quick question I have for all my other DWC growers, how much air do you have being pumped into your rez. Oh and @HotBunz here you go my friend more random Toeness!!

Not to worry my friend....I've been reading all about the increased air flow you suggest. I'll be buying a larger volume pump next week when we get paid. Currently running the crappy 7.8 lpm pump that came with the buckets. Any suggestions on how big of a pump to get?

one that will give you 50LPM, but you HAVE to diffuse the air correctly if you want to use it for the little guys early on. Can you take a picture of your roots for me

Here are the Blackberry roots. I'm taking pics with an ipad with no flash, and I shake like a bastard, so sorry about the low quality. I believe the brownish roots are stained from the feed, but I add 3 drops of 29% h202 to each rez to battle the slime.

Oh, and what stone do you recommend for the best diffusion. I don't want to be damaging roots.

The roots are big enough you shouldn't really have to worry about it but this is the air diffuser I recommend
