Instead of looking at the color of your pistils, the best way to determine when to harvest is to go by what the trichomes look like and then matching that with the medicinal benefit you're after. Do you have a jeweler's loupe or any other way of zooming in there and seeing what the trichome heads look like?

got a 420 scope leaves have not really changed much i dont really understand the tricome thing yet lol
o been looking thru my 420 scope from what i see my buds are milky when should i do a flush and for how long i seen some one say two week flush so that would be ph water on monday and then ph water next monday the chop and nlet her dry i have seen vids where the person has choped her and then put the choped stem in a vase of ph water then refill it and then the next day hang dry what do u think of all my ???? shoot me your amazing help and answers thans joe i could have never got this far with out all u guys cant thank u enough

Last harvest what I did is to start checking using the 420 microscope when the hairs on the plant start to turn around 60-70% brownist , and when they are milky, I started to feed them just water to flush and be ready to harvest .. I though this way by the time it needs to be chopped I can do it straight away

With auto's I believe it's best to go by the leaves, if you want to flush 65 to 70 days is a good tihe to start flushing, but wait to harvest till your leaves have been sucked dry......

That's sweet that you have a 420 scope; handy tool indeed!
goauto posted a couple of gems for tips up above that should help answer your questions about flushing and harvest time.
Muddy's tip: When to harvest autos? Your leaves will tell you.
Now the one thing I will say about Muddy's method is that if you do not want any type of stone, body high, or couchlock and are looking only for an uplifting, heady effect, then using Muddy's method might carry you past that window of opportunity. If that's the case, then you want to base your harvest time solely on the trichs. You will definitely sacrifice some yield by harvesting for the uplifting heady effect, but what good is the extra weight if it means giving you an undesirable med effect? However, if you're after a good mix of head and body effect, or of solely a narcotic effect, then I would definitely go by what Muddy advises.
