Howdy fellers. I'm a first timer. Saw no Germination Forum (how did this important topic get overlooked
so I'm posting up here, in the tenderfoot area.
A friend gave me some seed from some sort of South American brick weed. No, not auto-flower, but we'll get there, should these work out. The first batch I put in water for 48 hours. At 24 hours they were cracking open and looking like little clams. But they didn't go any further.

At 48 hours I put them on damp paper towels and some stuck their necks out more.

A second batch I left in water only 24 hours, then to paper. They did better and readily started sticking their roots out.

Today I dropped about 20 of these guys into various media, from seed starter, to coir/perlite, to a mix with ferts, just to get a feel for each. We'll see how they do.
Now, the state of Oregon MMJ program (OMMP) says that each plant yields about a pound of marijuana. So I figger we've got about 20 pounds right here! Whoa, boys! OK now, maybe we're getting a little ahead of ourselves. All I can say is, even if these are about 0 THC weed, they're not bad germinators.
And I hope the pictures come out better than they do in this previewer, which isn't showing them at all. If you can't see 'em, let me tell you, they're pretty cool lookin' little seeds. Eat your hearts out.
