I have some autos in promix bx right now and they seem to be pretty small for a week old.

I didn't add anything to the soil because I added 8 quarts of miracle grow perlite but I don't see any burns...

So I was wondering if the General Organics Go box was any good? Or should I go with the flora series or maybe even just fox farm grow big and tiger bloom?

And how big should my autos be under a 500watt HPS

Don't jump down the Fox Farm rabbit hole...I was just like you...."I'll just get the essentials, and work with those."
The problem is, their feeding schedule is pretty much set up to utilize it all together. (Or, more accurately, the list
of items kept getting bigger as they plugged holes in the line-up's inadequacy and to sell more bottles of stuff)
It works great, just not with only SOME of the elements.

Get the GO Box off Amazon for $40 and be done with it.
A LOT of people very happy with that line-up.

I'm sitting on $250-$300 worth of Fox Farm nutes wishing I had a simpler solution. (HA! Simpler solution, that's a PUN!)

The light is only one factor in the plant size. The genetics of the plant will have more to say about that.

RE: Miracle Gro Perlite....that's the wild card here, that everyone would stay away from. So it's hard to say what
THAT stuff will do to equation.

Cheers & Good Luck!

Wow 300 on nutes...how long do you think that will last you? But yea I look the grow box because it looks like it has the essentials and little add ons like cal mag that's crucial all in one get go...

Do I have to feed every watering since its promix

Sorry, no idea about Promix BX...but no, you usually don't feed nutes every watering in soil. I DO know that it's important for you to always include
that it's the BX version when asking questions...IIRC there are different offerings from Promix (Some with no ferts inclusive at all) that are vastly different.

Make sure to hit up AFN's Live Help Thread for questions about your medium. It is an amazing resource and staff that knows will chime in :)

RE: My Fox Farms nutes - Other than the Big Bloom (FF) and CaMg+ (GH) that I use way more of, I have enough nutes to grow until 2018...
these nutes will expire/lose efficacy WAY before I use them all.

Heres the list:

Fox Farms Big Bloom
Fox Farms Grow Big
Fox Farms Tiger Bloom
Fox Farms Open Sesame
Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz
Fox Farms Cha-Ching
BushDoctor Boomerang
BushDoctor Kangaroots
BushDoctor Microbe Brew
BushDoctor Flowers Kiss
BushDoctor Sledgehammer
GH CaMg+
GH Armor Si
GH pH UP
GH pH Down
Liquinox Chelated FeZn
Unsulphured Molasses
Organic Agave Nectar
Soil Secrets Myco Powder

So yeah...it adds up.

I have the kangaroos, microbe brew And sledgehammer...I used both the roots and brew today since I seen my plants looked small for a week....mine are three years old and it said to use by 2...is the good bacteria dead or just not a lot of it at this point.
But I think I'm getting the go box tonite..is it the best bang for my buck u think?

I'll check out that thread...is it like a emergency line for plants? Lol

Hard to say whether your nutes are any good anymore....they are pretty old.

I would say get the GOBox and stop feeding the plants anything else old until
you get the new ones. Just feed pH'd water. Maybe some molasses.

Just my 2 cents

As to the AFN Live Help Thread - Yup, hotline for plants.... :)
One of many help threads here on AFN...

Cheers & Good Luck!

Pro mix bx is just a ph'd soiless mix sphagnum peat moss perlite vermiclulite with some lime ph'd at around 5.5 to 5.8. I f grow ing with leds go with sunshine mix 4 just perlite so it drys quicker it is too at arounf 5.5 to 5.8

I'm using HPS right now a week in,does heat mess or lack of it mess with the pH or something in promix?

But I might just read the help line now on then ,what's catagory is it under again?

It's better to read up on all these components and then have a specific question in mind...

HPS does create more heat than other light systems, but HPS doing harm to your plants
would most likely be based on how close they are to the plants. But it is responsible for
generating the overall heat of the area you're growing in and if it's too hot, you need to regulate
that with fans. There is a "sweet spot" where you want the temperature to be.

It will not effect pH.

It sounds like your Promix BX has no nutrients in it and it sounds like your old nutes have lost their mojo.
