Lucas formula doesn't work in coco coir. You have to use h3ad's formula which is 1.6 ml micro and 2.4ml bloom / liter (or whatever that is in US measurements). Also you might have to adjust the ratios a bit depending on the plant. I'm glad you found nutrients that work for you, that's what growing is all about, finding out the style and methods that best suit you.

Sorry it was the Heads version I was using. Modified lucas formula. I kinda forget now because it was about 2-3 years ago at least.
All I know is the plants did not like it. Not sure why because I can't remember exactly.
This was around the time I got the RO filter so it could have had something to do with that. Possibly cal/mag deficient.
This is back when I was only growing in either soil or hydro systems like flood and drain or NFT. I wasn't using RO filters or Coco and never had any cal/mag deficiencies experience to refer too. It was a complete disaster so I started looking into why could it be. That's around when I discovered that GHE isn't made for RO water and only really Advanced Nutrients are, so I switched to AN and have never looked back.
If the modified lucas formula, aka Heads formula works for you that's great. I wish it had worked for me. Nutrients would be a heck of a lot cheaper as I can buy 10L containers of GHE nutrients which doesn't have tax over here because those quanitities are classed as agriculture (which is tax exempt). Compared to the AN nutes I'm using now that would have been 1/3 the price. So yes if it works for you I'm jealous
So to summarise I believe my problems with the Heads Formular was either to do with the fact that I just started using RO water and Coco and hadn't really figured that combination of products out yet. Perhaps if I stayed with it, I could have gotten things to improve... but it was so bad I thought scrap this.
Or it could be due to the fact that GHE are different than the USA General Hydroponics where the lucas formula seems to be most popular. As I was saying I was looking into GHE and GH and noticed the ratios are different hence the lucas ratio / heads formula wouldn't work with GHE naturally. I'm guessing you're from the states and maybe that's why it worked for you and not me possibly?

Northern Europe actually, with the softest tap water around (don't have an EC meter). My first coco run was a huge failure as well, but I've been getting pretty good results lately.

Kosher if you go with canna get the Coco A&B, Rhizotonic, and Boost (havent used boost yet but just got it because of the great reviews) i wouldnt get the pk13/14, canna says you only use it once in flower. If you're gonna reuse the coco, then get the cannazym too.

Hey thanks, i should only get the cannazym if im going to re-use the coco? if i already own atami bloombastic which is 0-21-21 would it replace the pk13/14?
I would start off and just get the Canna A&B and the Rhizotonic. Why? Because you're too novice to go spending money on nutrients that you probably wont use properly, that will at best be a waste of money, and worst will damage your plants because of over feeding etc.
In the beginning I'd highly recommend using just the basic base feed nutrients. You can easily grow a plant that has decent size crystally buds all over it with just the A&B. Once you've done a grow with just A&B and it goes well and you recorded what you did, you can replicate this and look at add/change one thing on the next grow.
I'd start off lightly feeding them A&B and give them lots of Rhizotonic for the first 3 weeks. Whatever it says on the Rhizotonic bottle 4ml per litre? Something like that.. then give them 2ml per litre for week 4 and 5, then 1ml per litre weeks 6, 7 and then stop feeding them Rhizotonic. Why? Because root stimulants always work best when there's less nutrient in the soil and as time goes on you don't want to be wasting your Rhizotonic. In the last few weeks the roots stop growing and basically the plant starts to prepare to die.
Cannazyme while okay is not neccessary. In my opinion when you first start growing a new way, you don't want to go spending lots of money on things that aren't absolutely neccessary. You are better to make it as simple as possibly, get a grasp of the fundamentals and work up slowly from there.
If you see any deficiencies from say day 7 - 21 it's probably cal/mag related so give them a dose of cal/mag as soon as you see any yellowing of the lower leaves or brown spotting of the upper leaves.
On your second grow, if the first goes well, I would upgrade to adding PK 13/14. If that second grow goes really well, then I'd upgrade to adding Boost. But really you don't need it. I got very nice buds using just A&B on my first grow with Canna and it was easy and problem free. I think over complicating things when you really dunno what you're doing is worse than it is good.

Heads formula ask to add calmag to supplement its lack of. That formula works great just gotta ph everything.
Anyways I recommend the head formula or possibly even go with maxibloom and add some calmag. Currently it's what I'm doing and it works great and it's easy.

Sawbones, Greenhouse Powder Feed! I'd love to use it. Not available in states tho. Which do you use? Grow, short flower, long flower or hybrid?
