I’m using Coast of Maine Stonington Blend right now and it’s not cutting it. Possibly just a bad batch, I don’t know. Looking for other options to try. I don’t mind doing some amending but I’m not going to “build my own”. And something fairly easy to procure preferably. Looking at Roots Organics maybe. And I just came across Good Earth Organics, anyone ever used their stuff?

Thanks y’all. Just what I was looking for. I’ll check’em all out.

My buddy uses Mixasoil’s concentrate & mixes it into peat.
He never has any problems whatsoever.
They also have premixed bag soil.

Interesting as Coast Of Maine seems a bit pricey.I had Roots Organic and it had weird bugs in it so I went with FFOF which most will say is not the same as it was but mine was great. It was just right moist, smelled good/nothing strong or off and plant is doing good so far.I guess it is a toss of the dice with these brands of when you will get the ''bastard'' bag of soil.DCLXVI has excellent advice cause places like Build A Soil and such are way more likely to be consistent than the others like FFOF where if you have an issue they are excellent to deal with and will make it right.Build A Soil will be my go to after this grow as their customer service is top notch when I ordered their top dress kit.

I use Fox Farms Happy Frog and so far do pretty good with it. Been saving my spent stuff in a big garbage can to use around the other plants and a gardening base soil. Figure if I ever decide to build my own it'll be a good starter base to ammend.

It seems that the CoM Stonington I got (or possibly in general) has a very high calcium content. Once I figured that out (with help from some AFN gurus) my grow is doing well.

I bit the bullet and ordered a couple bags of KIS Biochar. Shipping cost was outrageous. But I plan to re-amend and reuse it, hopefully for a lot of grows. Like Build A Soil, they have excellent customer service. The owner Tad is here on AFN occasionally and is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Excellent to hear your grow is doing good!Oh I hear ya on those shipping costs.I have no transportation or anyone who can help me out so I look at what is at Home Depot. Not a ton of selection but do have Black Gold for really good prices and free shipping plus it gets here in a few days.So that is my best choice depending on what $$$$ I have to work with. The KIS products look great too.
