I have a new Apollo tent, dimensions in title. I'm trying to find the best way to get it all ventilated.

What I already have on hand:
Active Air 4" fan
25' insulated 4" ducting
3 amp variac
600w LED panel

The LED panel takes up a lot of space so hanging a fan from the ceiling inside the tent isn't really an option. I think I'm going to hang the fan from the ceiling outside the tent with bungey cords. Then I will run a duct into the tent and find a way to secure the carbon scrubber against the closest vertical support for the tent. I was thinking of exhausting the filtered air through the wall using a dryer vent as I own the home so I won't be destroying anybody elses stuff and I think that would make it a little quieter as it's in my bedroom.

Now for the passive intake. It has flaps that velcrow up but as far as I can tell they will be useless unless growing autos. I will be starting with photo plants first go because customs jacked my auto seeds and I can't wait much longer. That said there is a 3" port down at the bottom of the tent in the back but it also let's light leak in. Can I get a few feet of black pvc pipe and a 90 degree elbow insert it through that port for my passive air intake as long as I filter it with some black pantyhose or something? Seems like it would work.

I'd like to see you guys set up similar size tents, I'm a visual learner so pics would be awesome! (but advice in general is much appreciated as well).

Here is the tent: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H9OJHYA?psc=1

Here is what it looks like with the light in it:

Thanks a bunch

I'm getting that exact same tent... :)

I'm going to run 4" with variable control in and a 4 inch carbon filter fan out.
Your light isn't going to generate a ton of heat....

I don't think you'll need passive with a 4 incher pushing air in.

Sounds like a great set-up!

Well I was going to pull air out of the tent with the fan so scrubber in tent>duct out of tent>fan out of tent>duct out of fan>4" dryer vent through the wall venting to the outdoors. I still need a way for fresh air to get in without light leaks. I think the pvc idea may do the trick using the black stuff. A 24" piece going into a 90 degree elbow and a short piece to go into the tent.

I think I'll see where this thread goes today and choose a plan tomorrow.

Thanks for posting up Trapper, you'll be suprised at the quality of this tent for the price it is. Just not much room on the inside for extras after the light goes in.

Ohhh! I thought you had a fan in conjunction with the scrubber too...

I like your idea...no matter the material, if you have a couple bends in it...I don't think light will get in. easy enough to test....I'll be watching this too. I am excited, it looks like a nice unit:)

Well I couldn't wait any longer so I went and got the stuff. The hole is a VERY tight 3" fit. I ended up getting 24" of 3" black PVC with a 90 for the beginning of the run, then a 3" 90 elbow made for water heaters. I taped the seams on the silver piece to aid in light leaks and may take it back out and paint the inside of it black but I think I'll be ok with the PVC run and the elbow. It's not actually very light back there with ambient sunlight and this picture shows the flash etc. I also plan on covering the end of the pvc with some sort of filter, either black pantyhose or some window screen mesh, not sure yet. The tent is sucked in a little bit but not bad like I've seen before.

Now I'm doing a test run with the variac to see how high I need to run it to keep the tent at a decent temp. That will be subject to change of course though because I do have it attached with a 25' run right now and I should only need about 6 altogether when the project is done. Might end up doing it like you see (but with a shorter run) and doing a duct muffler as well. This is in my bedroom after all lol.

Just need my scrubber and my circulation fan and a good dry test run and the plants can go in

Way to get after it!

I'm pumped for that tent! :)

Trapper did you have a plan as far as what type of inline fan you were going to use? I'm almost wondering if I could have got away with one of those cheap inline 6" booster fans but I don't know how that would work with the carbon scrubber. I don't really need stealth but I do think it would make the bedroom unusually smelly (already smells like weed all the time without anything growing in it lol)

This tent thing is new to me, I'm used to using a bedroom...

I was just going to get an Amazon bundle...4" Carbon Filter canister and fan for out (route it up into the attic above) and a 4" inline fan and dryer ducting for in...

Ok, you'll have to use one of the upper ports to duct the air in because you will never fit a 4" through the 1 lower intake hole. That's my only complaint with this tent. It should have at least a 4" intake hole at the bottom, if not 2 or 3.

The four inch pulling out of the filter is restricted and slower, so the one blowing in will be pushing air along with smell out all over. You need to set it up so you have negative pressure in the tent.
