although the trichromes are the best guide, another clue to ripeness can be the pistils, They will shrivel up as they approach peak ripeness. Compare them with the state of the trichs, the buds should be close to ripe, with mostly cloudy trichs. Most autos don't amber up easily so that's not really a good gauge. I know several growers who will let them go a long time. myself I have a 90 day rule,, they are done at 90 days...lol. After that, may as well be growing photo periods imo.

You have overcome many issues to get this far. Now is the time to make sure you have your ducks in a row for drying and curing. A dark space that is about 75°F 50% humidity with gentle air movement to dry in. Jars, quart or 1/2 gallon, mini hygrometers and 62% Boveda Packs. Don't rush this last critical phase of growing.

End of week 8, day 56 for the Sensible Seeds OG Kush. They are starting to stack up nicely and turn a reddish purple. They should look amazing in a couple weeks.

Here's a few pics of the FastBuds West Coast OG. She is 67 days. I was hoping she was going to make it through another week or so but she seems to have turned from the last update on day 63. The pistils have darkened quickly and I'm now seeing amber trichs. So, I'm thinking, Thanksgiving Day she goes into 48 hrs of darkness and cut down this weekend. Whatcha all think?

ive had a plant that was long overdue an amber trich,then over a few days it went purple,brown,orange,autumn and stopped drinking.i think that was it telling me it was done.
looks lush and ripe to me

I think she is getting there. One day no amber, next day I could see it starting to show, now it is apparent. I can't hold steady enough to give a % so I think Thanksgiving is as good a day as any.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'm thankful my WCOG made it to day 70 with a harvest right around the corner. I'm thinking this one is done. The hairs on the outer buds have mostly gone dark. There are still white hairs all over the inner buds. It seems to have done a little swelling from about 4 days ago when the hairs on the outer buds were about half white, half dark. I think I am seeing some amber trichs but its difficult to tell without cutting it off and having a steady hand. What do you think?
