Well, a big hello to you all, where to begin, well my past growing experience has been a couple of half hearted bodged attempts with very poor results , i managed to get them grown but ended up with lots of lovely looking leaves with little else to show for it, in my defense they was grown in soil pinched from the houseplants and lights pinched from various rooms of the house lol and seeds bought from a sex shop lmao (don’t ask).Over the years (I’ve hit the big five o) I have always looked through various growing forums and been inspired with the amazing and ingenious ways people have grown their plants and drooled over their results( but my partner would say i drool a lot anyways). Well i have just been layed off work with my back and so its time to attempt a more serious attempt to grow myself some pain relief. I ended up here because (doing my best not to sound like a stalker) found Mitch , i used to follow his grows years ago and well he has shone brightly since them days and gone from 2litre pop bottles to dizzying heights of growing stardom and out of all the forums this seems the friendliest place by far.

I am currently in the process of putting together a grow space (it will be only w2ft by d1 by h4 ) and using cfl( i know not ideal but only place in the flat and all i can afford) and will be growing in soil, i plan to put a dairy up when its time , i got some seeds, i had to buy some mephisto genetics ,so i hope a couple of you can help out when the time comes , best wishes C.

Thanks Henco, i am sure i will have lots of questions, i have read the threads till my eyes bleed, taken notes and even have a rough week to week plan ready, but when the time comes that the seed pops it head it just becomes a new grower panic lol , i am currently trying to sort out some ventilation and get the environment the best i can in that small space before i start.

Have at it hairyman , dam the torpedoes full speed ahead . Like you I had 3 miserable try's outdoors but benefited greatly by the experience when I brought it indoors .I learned 2 things , KISS and be patient .I'm still learning the patient part . Being from Scotland do you have access to peat ?? if you do I would recommend it over soil , better drainage .It's very exciting to grow indoors as you can see the development of your seeds as they go through the changes on what seems like a daily bases . Oh yeh once your eyes heal carry on reading there's always something to learn and you'll find it here . :tiphat:

Thanks Bear, i got some canna pro soil ,its peat based i think and biobizz nutes too go with it, i collected all the bits i can afford and now its time ta set it up and start

Hi, getting to the pont where i am ready to pop some beans, where do you guys suggest I start my first grow thread,they are mephisto seeds so in their,new grower or indoogrowing, they are all applicable.

Welcome to AFN! No need to go to any other grow site except www.growweedeasy.com. My 1st thought to you is K.I.S.S. Growing weed can be as hard or as difficult as you want it. Good soil, lighting, nutrients (less is more), cabinet temps, air flow and exchange, correct pH and (for me anyway) wet/dry cycle are needed to have a decent grow.

If you're like me I grow in a Super Box. There is less than 10 square feet of grow area. CFL's are a must. Go to They have a "steal our info" policy and they are the BEST for any serious CFL grower.

I've been nominated for BON/POM for my Micro/CFL grows. :Growing: Not an expert, but have gotten excellent results with CFLs.

Remember to keep it simple (K.I.S.S.) and post...post...post threads...throw a couple "Likes" in there and you'll get noticed.

AFN has the best grow forums for cannabis grows by far.

Thanks for the advice and sharing your wisdom.

Its reading through and following grows like yours that have inspired and given me confidence to start a small grow myself.

Cfl are the only option for me at the moment so its great to know that they can produce the goods.
