Indoor Grow Journal: Auto White Widow & Auto Amnesia Haze (Closet Grow)

Always best to have cal mag juice around :) I did notice on this run of AWW-I use Aurora roots organic nutes, vs. AN soup last run- that the cal mag def was minor compared to the previous grow, and it was week 7 before it presented. The Aurora program uses a surface feed powdered cal mag. I skipped it once, and the def showed up in two days! HPS should be better for you, but I'd add a light dose starting at week 5 or 6.

Will do, Thanks for the advice Wax:Sharing One:

Day 16 Update

This is a little late. This update is really from yesterday but I wanted to post it just to get some advice. Firstly the girls are looking pretty healthy and still growing strong but I have noticed a couple of leaves with a few small yellow spots on them. It doesn't seem wide spread so is probably nothing to worry about. The soil I am growing in is supposed to be hot for 3 weeks so I'm not sure if that is coming to an end and I should start adding grow nutes. Luckily my nutes arrived yesterday. Here are some pics of the girls from last night.

Yellow, rust spots could indicate cal mag def. Any chance they got splashed when you watered, could be another possibility. I'm no expert hopefully someone else will chime in.

Thanks for the input Gman. The Calmag deficiency is possible but Im still not sure. So far I have only been feeding with ph'd water so I dont think any splashes would cause any harm. I will see if it develops further, if it does it might be easier to diagnose.

Need some advice

Hey everyone. So there definitely seem to be a problem with the girls but I cant figure out what it is and how to go about solving it. There are a couple of symptoms that seem to be getting worse. Namely the yellow spots on the leaves and also some curled down leaves. There is also a little yellowing on some of the leaf tips. Out of my three plants the Amnesia Haze 1 which is the most developed is showing the most symptoms, the Amnesia Haze 2 is also showing signs but not as many. Where as the WW really only has one yellow leaf tip. So far I have fed the girls no nutes as the soil Im using is hot for the first 3 weeks, all I have given them is water which has a p.h of 6.5. I only got my ph tester yesterday and have not yet tested the run off as they are not due to be watered for a day or so. Previously I was having issues controlling the temperature but I have got that under control now and its pretty solid at 25 degrees. I have also inspected them for any sort of parasites and cant find anything. Im completely stuck at the moment, I assume its something to do with the soil being too hot or maybe calmag deficiency but Im hesitant about what to do as I dont want to cause further damage to the girls.

Here is Amnesia Haze 1
AH1.1.jpgAH1.2.jpg These are the spots on the leaves. More and more are appearing day by day.
AH1.4.jpgAlso the new leaves seem to be developing with yellow tips.

Here is Amnesia Haze 2
AH2.1.jpgAH2.2.jpgAH2.3.jpgNot as many spots on her but there seems to be more curled down leaves.

Here is the White Widow
WW1.1.jpgWW1.2.jpgThe burnt leaf tip on her is the only noticable problem on her.

Overall they are still growing strong and I would like to keep it that way. Hope you all can help, Thanks

Pic 4 is nute splash the spots look little like nute slpash too but not sure the burnt tips is a little hot with the nutes. are you feeding from the top or the bottom?

Thanks for the feedback. I know it looks like note splash but how can that possibly be when I haven't fed them any nutes. I water them at the bottom bit may have splashed them a little without noticing so it could be burnt from a little water droplet being on there but I'm pretty sure I didn't splash everywhere. If the soil is too hot would a good flushing help as it's prefertilized soil?

Hi Prof, I think it could be one of two likely, and opposing, issues.. From the last couple of pic updates, it looks like the youngsters are/were having trouble with either pH or nute overload-from your soil being hot out of the sack. If its that, then they appear to be trying to deal with the big nute hit. Now, the opposing possibility is that the soil ISN'T hot, or the girls have used up what they could, and now they're hungry, which can show signs as the pics depict. This is a tough one, because fixing one of the possibilities will make the other worse.. If you did give them a decent flush, you'll want to finish it with 1/4 strength nutes, so the soil isn't empty, so that might be the more prudent route. That way, if its too much nutes, you'll flush the majority and have a light dose remaining, which will mellow the nute overload. And, if its too little nutes, then you'll have 1/4 strength added, and they should respond to that nute infusion positively. That's what I would do, in the same situation. Best to you.

Thanks again Wax, I will give it a go and see what happens

So I just flushed both of the amnesia hazes. Hope I did it right haha it is my first time. So I watered them with 6.5ph water until I got about 70 to 80% runoff (which took about 5 litres of water for each plant) then I added some 1/4 strength nutes. Hope I didn't derp it up.
I decided to leave the white widow for now as she still looks pretty healthy. Fingers crossed this has a positive affect on the girls.
