Syringes shipped today. I am new to this, and haven't had alot of luck with weed seeds. I know next to nothing about mushrooms. It will be an outdoor grow. The winters are usually mild, with high temps 70+, usually only a couple of weeks mid winter around freezing.

So I get some wheat flour, inject some solution on it, then put some potting soil around it? :help:

Why not do them inside? Cold weather will slow down the growth. What tek are you following?
Brown flour rice <-- steam them in jars for 90 mins
You have to be very clean

No, nothing indoors.

I have a post at different site, but no decent help so far. Only going with what I've read, which isn't a single step-by-step instruction anything, so far I'll mix together some bat or horse dung, flour/rice/whole grains, maybe some honey or brown sugar.

The only posts I've read involved people transferring casings (which I guess are jars of mostly food the spores/mycelium have overtaken?) into the ground.

Someone else has another thread going, but they put rye berry into a bag and added some spores and will let it sit before going outdoors.

If you dont know what you are doing yet dont start...cause they dont work just by chance..if you are trying to do a outdoor grow..you need to inoculate some rye, straw, or Brown rice powder when that becomes all white with mycelium...and no other color then you put into your mix may it be straw.. let this sit to inoculate that a bit then put into your hole or bed to wait for your first flush..even cardboard has worked but all of those things need to be sterilized..I dont know what has been new in the shroom room but I dont know anything about any bat dung being usefull honey or brown sugar..
your rye must be sterilized and cool before introducing spores..and well its a bit of a process for me to get into right now but tell me what you are trying to do and then I might be able to put a lil something together for you..

growing shrooms outdoors is a nono because of the chance of them being contaminated w/ poisonous shrooms...they should only be grown indoors.

yes i agree im about to start mine for the first time and indoors is the way to go so that you dont end up killing yourself. some contaminents in otherwise normal mushrooms can and will "KILL YOU". research more. thats what im doing before i start. this pattern of ding random stuff might be how your weed beans didnt take...... just an observation.

Growing boomers outdoors is no easy task!!! if you can find a place indoors here is what works for me.

You should order your supplies here http://www.out-grow.com/ They are great people to deal with.

You want to order 2 pound bags of sterile rye berry per 5 pound bag of compost bag.
5 two pound bags of rye berries. Total of 10 pounds of rye berries
5 five pound bags of compost. Total of 25 pounds of compost.
Email them direct so they can calculate the proper shipping cost, if you just order them right off the website you will pay a ton for shipping. They will send you a pay pal invoice once you agree on price.

ORDER YOU SPORES HERE http://www.lilshopofspores.com/ I have tried other sites and they sent me bunk spores. Lil shop of spores even sent me some free spores.
You will need 3, 10cc syringes for the above amount of berries and compost. You will be using 6 cc’s per bag of rye berries.

You are going to inject 6 cc’s of spores from the syringe into each bags of rye berries. You need to do this in a very clean spot. Make sure you wipe down the area with rubbing alcohol. Get the 90% rubbing alcohol. Wash your hands with the rubbing alcohol as well. You can not skip any of the cleaning. Wipe down the rye bags with alcohol as well. Get a metal ¼ cup measuring cup fill it half way with rubbing alcohol, light on fire, flame will be blue, put the tip of the syringe into flame until the tip is glowing red. Let it cool for a few seconds then poke hole into bag and squirt 6 cc’s on top of berries on one side so the spores drip down the side of the bag. Do not inject spores in the middle of the bag. Make sure it on top and on one side. Place small piece of sterile medical tape over hole. Do all bags.
Put the bags in a dark closet that maintains about 75 degrees. Now you sit and wait for the spores to start to colonize into Mycelium. Do not move bags. It should look like bright white webbing. Go to www.shroomy.com to see pics. This can take up to a week or more. Once you have about 20% Mycelium you want to mix the bag of berries to spread out the mycelium. Be genital when you do this. Put the bags back into the closet and wait for 100% mycelium. You want the bag to be all white. Once the bag is all white give it about 1 week to make sure the center is colonized as well.
Once your rye berries are fully colonized with mycelium you the put it into the compost. Again be in a clean area. Cut open both bags rye berries and compost. Brake up the rye berries with your hands before you open the bag. Dump into compost bag and mix real good. Fold compost bags closed and use paper clips to hold shut. Put back into closet to colonize the compost. You are looking for the same whit mycelium to start to grow. This as well can take a few weeks. Once the compost bag is 100% colonized with mycelium. Off to the next step.
Fruiting the cakes, you need to introduce 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark you can fruit them right in the bags if you want but I like to use 18 gallon rubber maid tubs the clear ones, must be clear. If you fruit in the bags you will not get as many mushrooms. In the 18 gallon tubs you need to drill about 10 small holes ¼ inch holes on each side for air movement. Put about 1 inch of perlite on the bottom of the tube. Place the cakes on a aluminum foil roll about a 1 inch roll made into a circle. You need to keep the cake off the perlite. Once the cake starts to furit you want to mist with distilled water once per day. Keep a fan blowing on the tubs the air will go into the holes you drilles ¼ inch holes. Run fan for a few hour per day only. You want the humity to be very high during fruiting don’t be afraid to mist the perlite as well. Pick you mushrooms before the caps open. Let dry in front of a fan for about 1 week or until cracker dry.
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU TAKE THE CAKES OUT OF THE BAG AND PUT INTO RUBBERMAID TUB. USE A RAZOR BLADE TO CUT THE BAG OFF. YOU DON’T WANT TO HARM THE CAKE. BE VERY CLEAN FOR THIS ALSO.
I got over a ¼ pound with using same amounts as above.
I think I spent around 170 or 180.

Follow this guide
http://www.mushroomvideos.com/BRF-Pf-Tek
Google BRF Tek and you should start with that as you dont need a pressure cooker any pot with a cover will do.

In the mushroom game you have to be very clean/sterile

If it's your first attempt don't read a million threads and mix and match. Stick to one.

Dung is usually used for pans not cubes

i read that being outdoors makes them more resistant to contamination....i won't eat any after studying/going through possible molds, etc., that might be on them.

Well the syringes will be here in a couple days. I CAN NOT do any indoor growing/colonizing, period.

ha, bat guano was my idea...researching weed for so long...it just is less likely to have spores that were undigested in the dung itself, right? i dont even know if it is any good for nutrients...horse dung is good because of undigested grain?

the honey/sugar i got because someone put some syringe liquid in some "honey mix" or something. isnt that what mycelium turns the flour into before ingesting, glucouse or something? idk.

i saw something on cardboard too, but since i dont know enuf about P Cub, i dont know how useful wood is as nute.

i truly look forward to what you come up with bomb, the shroom site suxed. one link to "PF tek" about doing everything indoors in jars, etc. Then a few jokes about just putting the spores anywhere w/3ft shrooms. They want to give the impression that they never ever thought their mushrooms grow in the wild, outdoors, all by themselves.

I do know the basics of that method. Cooking food, being sterile like a doctor, injecting jars through tiny lid holes. Well, i never got further than that. I just downloaded a dozen or so utube vids to watch later, but at best, one or two is about outdoor growing, and I dont even think that, and less likely to be step-by-step. I just thought it would help to know more than I do to make it seem less of a mystery.

So, so far, add keeping ALL light from mycelium until fruiting is desired. Alot of potting topsoil or some leaves or something.

and thats where i'm at

it would be alot ALOT more easier for you to do inside but you stated its not poss..outdoors really isnt the best 1st timer..its way to easy to contaminate with the amount of procedures to go through..you might be better at looking for a outdoor kit I think someone posted one above I didnt look at it yet..that way youll have a lil less chance at fkn itup..
