Growing on concrete and radiant heat

My side yard has a concrete path that is also the best sun coverage in that area.

What can I do to grow on the concrete but minimize issues from the radiant heat?

Is there any material that would be a good barrier? Are fabric pots on the standard risers sufficient? 5 gallon buckets any better?

I'm looking for temporary solutions now, not ready to consider covering path over at this point.

What i am doing to fight radiant heat is i am using pots much larger that i usually would. normally indoor i would use 3-5 gallon fabric pots, but since i am outdoors fighting the heat (we've already hit 99) i am using a plastic 10-15 gallon pot.

I dont know if it is really making a difference, but my plants have not shown any negative affects from the heat.
