Indoor Gtron APG hydro

Day 34
Another 1.5 inches of growth over the last 24hrs
22.5 inches tall (center branch, the rest of the canopy is at 21 inches) and 25 inches wide.
Still on AN phPefect Grow w supplements @ ec of 1.3- 1.5
Tomorrow, she will get a rez change w/ a 50/50 split of phPefect SensiGrow & phPefect SensiBloom w supplements @ EC 1.5
I start her nutes @ EC 1.50 and watch to see what it does.
If it rises, I dial it back with H20 until it levels off and stops rising.
If it drops within 24 hrs, I will add a nute mix to bring it back to 1.6, if it drops again within 24 hrs I will bring it back up to 1.7.
I like to see a slow downward trend in the EC.
With AN phPerfect I do not fret the ph unless it is running to an extreme, which I have not found it does with my water until it is about time to change the rez, between 7-10 days. I usually change mine every 7 days just out of convenience.
This is with single plant grows, with multiple plants in one rez, I have noticed the AN phperfect fluctuates a bit more and may need ph up or down to keep things in line during the week.
Air temps. It gets damned hot here. I try to keep my temps around 78-82, I mostly manage.
Rez temps, I use coolers. They hold there temps well, I try to keep the in the mid 60's to 70, I mostly manage that, with a couple of frozen liters hanging in from the top.

Day 36
Another 1.5 inches of growth over the last 36 hrs
24 inches tall (center branch, the rest of the canopy is at 22.5 inches) and 25 inches wide.
Smell? Oh yeah, I have never grown any grapefruit strains, but there is no missing the smell now. Grapefruit smell is increasing

On day 35 she got a rez change to 40/60 split of phPefect SensiGrow & phPefect SensiBloom w supplements @ EC 1.45
I thought I was being generous....... really, I was a little worried..........
Apparently no need, when I dragged my ass out of bed this morning EC was reading ............1.25!

Holy shit, she eats like a teenager!
I am tossed between keeping the rez topped with a 40/60 mix or just topping with bloom for the rest of this week. (when topping with a nute mix, I just use the base nutes and cal/mag, no other supplements.)
I think she will get close to the 1 meter mark either way.

If you are wanting to push your plants in hydro, you need to be able to watch them close, and I recommend continuous PH/EC/PPM/TEMP probes. You can get reasonably priced ones online with companies that cater to aquaria. The ones I have seen marketed to hydro growers seemed really over priced.
I can sit there on my ass and watch the PH/Temp/EC rise, fall,or just remain stable at a glance. When I have set the EC, if I see it rising, I am almost always able to drop it with fresh H2O immediately.
Generally, if I see that the EC is rising after a rez change, I will drop it back a full 0.1 back from that rez's start point. So if I mixed a rez with EC of 1.5, and notice it rising. I will drop it back to 1.4 and watch it. If it begins to rise again, it gets dropped down to 1.3 with fresh H2O, and so on.
If I am pushing plants hard and have to leave them unattended for more than 6 hours, I will drop the EC levels back down to "easy eating" levels, usually a full .2 or .3 lower than the "push" EC levels.
I have not pushed this girl as hard as she could be, not once has the EC risen.
And just since typing this up it has dropped to 1.23 (OK it does take me a long time to type, too many shiny to distract me)
Any way enjoy the pics, I got deal go deal with a stanky assed kush girl, that has got my beautiful half irritated as hell at me cause it is stinking through 2 carbon filters!

You're achieving some real serious density and great early budding....very nice job. Between yours and Ronin's APG tests, I'm really beginning to yearn for this strain.

Excellent! I know I keep bringing this up but whenever I see your current grows I can't help thinking back to your first one. You have become quite the accomplished grower. Congrats!

Thanks Muddy!
It is no bullshit or asskissing to give much of the credit to you for helping me through those first couple of grows.
Your advice is simple and easy to follow.
Once I had those few down, the rest has been easy.

And once I finally "got my feet wet" with hydro, there was no turning back.
I had 3 previous students that had been itching to do hydroponics, so I got the thrill of running several dwc grows at the same time.
It was just like being back in aquaculture for me.
I have helped a number of very "unconnected people" be able to grow their own medical and personal use plants and now I have another tool with hydroponics.

While I am not averse to capitalizing on cannabis, It is important to me to provide people that may think they can't do it, the ability to and not be a slave to the current "black market" state in which we reside.
Even those states that have somewhat legalized cannabis, retail costs are still significant enough to dissuade some people benefiting from it's use, that should.

You're very welcome. You're views on helping others is exactly the same as mine. My admin duties and all the resent drama have kept me from getting involved in helping as much as I would like to. Fortunately that is changing and I'm finding I now have more time to help those in need. Keep up the excellent work!

wow gtron, this strain is getting a thoroughly professional testing here and it looks like she is doing very well! Wish i could smell the grapefruit too!

:Sharing One:Great looking girl you got there my friend she looks like shes going to be a beast! :thumbs:Your working the hydro bro nice work! :gthumb:

Day 38
1 inch of growth over the last 48 hrs
25 inches tall (center branch, the rest of the canopy is at "catching up!") and 25 inches wide.
Center branch is being besieged by the side branches, I cant tell who will win.
Grapefruit smell is ever present close to the plant, not overpowering, just there.

She devours what I throw at her, and every morning is sitting there with an EC in the mid 1.2's
I am not complaining a bit. This just shows how hardy she is.

Note* Added another pest predator (Hope she doesn't get eaten by the jumping spiders)
